Thank you for dropping by Fortune, I'm pleased with 2019 so far, it's not had a chance to get its claws into me yet.

Another nsd today - going well so far!
Direct debits etc have gone out, but I have no control over those, so they don't count.
Work went well as a lot of people aren't back yet. Hubby and pickle survived their day together so back to family days out tomorrow.

Quick trip round the outlet village this morning. Low spends and Pickle got to choose a toy to spednhis toy shop voucher on (that he got for Christmas)
Phone bill generated, Tilly tidied made.

Started taking the decorations down, will finish off tomorrow (hopefully do a tip/charity shop run too)

Emailed 5 companies about the woodworm, one has already got back to me offering to come and look tomorrow, just need to fix a time. Totted up the pennies and between hubby & I's accounts we've got £15k we can put our hands on without blinking. And a further £10k if we absolutely have to. We could extend the mortgage if needed and my parents would loan us the money if necessary. I'm hoping it will be less than £5k, but we shall see.

Have sorted a few DVDs to go out to a selling app, need some more stuff to hit the minimums though, so will do that tomorrow and will try and list some of Pickle's too small stuff tomorrow too.

Jobs, chores & errands tomorrow and hopefully the start of finding out what the woodworm damage is urgh. Adulting is pants!

    Evening all,

    Another nsd. Wooo hooooo.
First company to quote for the woodworm have been. We were impressed, the amount of disruption is as we expected, but for less time and less money than anticipated, which is good news. We have the cash (in the emergency fund) but contemplating whether, whilst the whole of the downstairs is cleared, should we get it replastered & decorated - ideally I'd say yes, but plaster takes soooo long to dry in this house I just don't know if I can face it. Going to get the rest of the quotes in and then decide.
We also need to have some heat exchanging extractor fans fitted to deal with the damp/condensation issue. These aren't cheap, but not ridiculously expensive either. Oh, decisions, deductions.

No idea what's happening tomorrow, I really need some sunlight but don't think it's going to happen with the weather we've currently got.

Another nsd, I know they won't last, but while they do I shall rejoice. The downside is I haven't actually left the house and I'm feeling slightly murderous towards the other half. He's actually had a fair bit of child free time over this holiday, I can't remember the last time he did the early morning get up and has lazed in bed until gone 9 on several mornings. He was up at 8 today, but I did comment yesterday, so he knew he had to, but I've had enough of his bloody phone that's permanently glued to his hand and face when we are out and about. I'm going to drown it at some point. Grrrrr all the rage!!!!

I know we are both stressing about the work that's going to be happening. His stress is to ignore it all though, and mine is the opposite which is never very helpful. If we don't go out tomorrow afternoon I'm going to see if he'll do some sorting during Pickle's nap time. Or at least planning.
Grrrrrr the rage, low mood and sadness is creeping up on me. I just need some sunshine!

    Sleep well everyone.

    Wish.

hopefully you'll be please to hear I'm in a better mood today. Hubby has been a little more Proactive and I've slept a little better.
Today has been a spend day. Food shop, lots of household bits needed too, also a quick coffee out with Pickle. Ald! At 8am on a Monday morning seems to be the place to be for reductions. I'm really pleased I'd done a good plan for 2 weeks as I was able to pick up some half price meat for dishes next week.

Ynab pots are holding up well and Tilly tidies have been made. Full day of work tomorrow, so hoping for a nsd.

    Wish.

Wow, Wishing - I've finally read through your whole diary and you've come so far! I have to say I find all your numbers a little befuddling sometimes :rotfl: you are the most organised person I know.

I hope the woodworm gets sorted quickly! x

Oh ladyMay, that's a portion of your life you are not going to get back and you being so busy too. I'm sorry.
One of the reasons my numbers are so crazy is Becuase I frequently tweak the measures I'm using to keep me motivated. Here's a (hopefully) simple run down as of today:

    Outstanding mortgage balance: £28,391.30
    Cash savings: £4975
Fixed rate ends: July 2020 (19months)
Monthly savings/mop pot required to be mortgage neutral: £1233

I do have other savings, but it's not counted here for various reasons.
