    Thanks both :)

Leftovers go in my lunchbox, but I like the idea of yoghurts Skintt_Catt.

Great idea about the seeds rainmac! I have 2 packs of mixed seeds in my cupboard & got bored of adding the to salads - as a crunchy snack they will be perfect.

Just seen your reply, Stephen - I understand what you're saying ;)

I have a book called Healthy Microwave Gourmet and they have recipes for Fruit Leather that you make yourself. Stop your fruit going off if you made it. I am at work atm (naughty Sally) but will post recipe this evening if it sounds like something you'd eat.

    Bascially fruity chewy strips...

Thanks Sally, but I don't have a microwave! Can they be done in an oven?

As metherer would like the recipe it would be great if you'd post it anyway, even if I can't make them in an oven!

Fruit leathers are normally made in a dehydrator (ie at about 45 Celsius) - over a period of some hours as I recall. Havent ever tried them - but thats what my memory is telling me. So - from that - I'm thinking possibly they might be able to be done in an oven (at the lowest possible heat and a long-ish cooking time). I wouldnt like to vouch for this - but it might be worth an experiment.

    Dehydrator recipe for apricot leather:
If the fruit is ripe and soft, the pitted halves will blend with no added liquid. Begin with enough fruit to get the blender action started, then add few pieces at time (blending continuously) till blender capacity is reached. Pour the puree onto prepared plastic wrap - smoothing with spatula till about one-quarter inch thick. The thicker the leather the chewier it will be and the longer the drying time. Thin leathers dry in less than 24 hours.

Can vary by adding honey or making half and half with apples.

(But bear in mind - this is a dehydrator recipe - not a cooker recipe - so its "cooked" at 45C).

How about rice cakes? Either plain or "savoury" (basically marmite-flavoured!).
Or a small amount of nuts? Not too many as they can add up to a high calory intake though.
I usually have a bowl with grapes in on my desk for picking at - I get a lot of visitors popping by to help me eat them too!
