I feel like I’m just plodding along now in terms of spending/saving.
Whatever money I have left in my bank account on Wednesday evening will go into my savings to start afresh on Thursday.
I may need to dip into my savings to see me through January rather than pay anything to the credit card but we’ll see. I don’t have any big plans for January.0 -
Had a terrible nights sleep! I woke up at stupid times and was finally awake at 5:30am and into work for 7:30am. Just got to work until 5pm then got football so won’t be home until 10:30pm!
Have a budgeted spend for this evening as me and the OH need to get dinner as we aren’t returning home from work. I am tempted to go home to nap though!!0 -
I finished work early (thank you, flexi time) and had an hour power nap, probably saved myself around £10 on eating out so that money remains firmly in my purse.
Just got the football to go to now and then back home to bed. All spending can be avoided as I’m feeling a little poorly so not a good idea to eat or drink anything when I’m out!0 -
I had £20 in my purse and I’m pretty much down to £0. Sounds include:
- parking for £3
- breakfast £2.25
- women products from boots £8.50
- lunch at £3
- football at £30 -
Oop, I hit post on the above before I finished writing.
Pay day is tonight and I still have £30 left so I’m going to move that into my savings, I also moved the £10 into savings my friend owed me.
I need to pop in M&S and pick up some more wrapping paper and an unexpected gift, my work colleague got me a gift and I haven’t got her anything so I will do that tomorrow

Saved myself over £10 in M&S by getting 50% off.
Spends this morning as I couldn’t face shopping during my lunch time.
- £10.25 on colleague gift (saved 50% on one gift which should have been £12.50)
- £4.50 on two rolls of wrapping paper and gift tags (saved £3.50 on this as 50% off wrapping)
- £2 on gift bag (saved £2 as 50% off)
I will need to go and get my food shopping money out today (£100) and my holiday money (£100) and £50 social fund. Other than that it will all sit on my card until direct debit day!
I also sent £35 to my savings so that account is slowly on the rise!0 -
Do you have a sparks card? I love the offers/voucher codes they give out, I plan all my shopping around them.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020
Debt Free Stage 2 - Completed 50/181 Payments0 -
I don’t have one. Considering the amount that I go into Sparks I should probably look into it, the same as a T Club Card really. I do most of my stuff in those two shops.
I was meant to be going out for drinks with people from work last night but everyone was hungry and we couldn’t find anywhere so everyone came back to mine, got a takeaway with my half costing £4.50 so saved money in the long run.
I have lunch with my friends today and then going for dinner with my OH tonight. Today should be the last spendy day until the end of the year. We will need to do one shop before the new year.
I got out my food shopping money and travel money yesterday so don’t need to touch my debit card.0 -
Yesterday was spendy but as I said I don’t have any plans which really involve spending money (unless I get gift cards/money as a gift) until New Years Eve.
Money spends were:
- £24 on 3 bottles of prosecco (saved £6 here as bottles had £2 off each..)
- £3.98 on bottle bags
- £9.80 on lunch
I didn’t spend any at dinner as my OH paid for us as part of a treat and didn’t spend any at the cinema as we ate before and took our our pop in.
Entertainment wise in January we are using the afternoon tea voucher from my birthday and have a joint birthday to attend so all my entertainment money is needed at the end of the month.
Got to do present drops today and tomorrow morning, also got the football this evening and travelling to my OH parent tomorrow afternoon (only a 2 hour drive so not too bad!)
The next spending day may be the 27th as we need to go food shopping!0 -
Made it to the in-laws, only an hour and a half of travelling to get here. I was a bit paranoid that I haven’t got everyone enough presents but I chilled out now

No money to be spent for the next few days, very relieved.
Me and my OH are planning for our anniversary on New Years Day, just thinking of doing breakfast then cinema.0
