Apologies I haven't been about much this week. Guest free now so just need to play catch up with laundry. Fun to see relatives but nice to get back to normal.

    Progress so far

9 SFD tomorrow will be a spendy day dd bday. So trip out planned combination of dd and gs bday so trip down copper mines.

Food 130/100. Seeing had extra 3 adults and 2 children pleased with that.

Health - eating - not great too many biccies and crisps. My relative informs me that I have duputren's contracture - which basicially hand closes up into a claw ( must be in the genes) finding it harder to straighten my hand out, have calicum deposits in palm of my hand. Just worry living alone and looking at my relatives hand will I manage. Oh well life's too short to worry too much.
Steps managed over 10K a day not really pushed myself, being tour guide was hard work!

Struggling to meet my credit card payment this month - I usually clear my current card but it is looking doubtful I can. So hate having to pay interest will look around to see what I can sell. Not lot of interest but principal involved.

    Grateful for
    Remembering to renew library books
    Dry weather at moment
Think found an odd job man through work

Another NSD and healthy day here - currently at the gym just having a rest in between machines. Saw my payslip, was exactly what I'd estimated so happy with that. Budget confirmed now for August. Will probably bow out of this challenge now, and possibly look for one for August. Happy almost weekend everyone!

Today I am grateful for dd having a lie-in, for a 'useful' sainz shop, for finding some Frozen top trumps in the ch shop, for our flat banister - sooo good for piling things on!, for my lemon drizzle cake turning out just lovely, for my hobnobs being scrummilicious, for plenty of hot water for washing up, for dd's excitement at planning a surprse present for a friend, for dh making dd + friend a rope ladder, for dd + friend then climbing in and out of a tree for ages and only stopping when the heavens opened, for getting our train tickets for our holiday.

Mothernerd - we got mum to sign a letter to her doc saying that she gave my sister and I permission to talk to any and everyone at the practice about her. It didn't mean that she couldn't do it, but it really did help us tremendously over the last year. Do you have an LPA for your mum? We have an EPA, but got a health LPA quite recenty while mum could still understand what it was about. Hope you are still enjoying time with your mum.

Went for the walking in he rain option yesterday and got soaked. Never mind it's good for you. The computer man said he could fix my tablet but it might not be cost effective as once the part started going it was likely that it would have to be fixed again at a later date. I spoke to the boy and he agreed that it would probably be a false economy to get it fixed if I could afford to buy a new one (the computer man wasn't trying to sell me a new one so I think it probably was good advice). C has an investment maturing in a couple of weeks the money from which will be topping up the holiday fund so he says to use some of the money from that as we do use it a lot when we're away. The boy is researching the best deal because I wouldn't have a clue. Other than that it was a fairly quiet day.
One of my paydays today so will probably go get any staples which are needed this month as the weather is dry at the moment.
    Have a good day.

Always look on the brighter side of life, da dum, da dume, da de, de de.

Sorry, had something ready and then realised I had already used it.

Apple the letter worked fine - Doctor Dan has filed it away to keep. We applied for the power of attorney (money) ages ago and it's still with the solicitor. Mum isn't ' losing her marbles' (as she calls it) yet (apart from normal dottiness and senior moments) but as she was ill the day before and had gone to the dentist, the more I can sort by myself without having to drag her out of the house (doctor will come to the house) the better.

Yes we are enjoying our time - her partner's family are all loud (one or two are totally self- centred) and we have been 'pushed out' over the years. Now I am getting 'my mum' back - we can chat, we can sit in companionable silence and we can both doze off if we need to (the only big tidying job left is the shed and I need a sunny day so I can drag everything out). Everyone has noticed the difference.

My brother had visited. His daughter had been and then she saw him and told him mum's partner was now in a home. He was worried because mum has never lived alone - he was imagining long empty days with only the tv for company. She has reassured him that I am going most days (dol who does the cleaning goes Weds and Sat).

Brother can't do much, he had an accident when he was 8 and my parents were told he would probably be in a wheelchair by the time he was 30. That hasn't happened but he is fairly immobile, having broken several other bits (arm, ankle, pelvis) over the years. At my aunt's funeral in February I didn't know which of them I should be holding on to. If I'd held onto both of them, we could all have gone down like a pack of cards.

Signing off now as I have a lot to do before meeting mum at dinner time (photos to go with an application, then cinema club and she wants to pick up brochures for coach trip holidays for us - probably nearer Christmas).

Where have all my turtles gone? Have you all been bad? Are you cowering in fear at the thought of running the thread for August?

I am happy. Ticked off a few more boxes (may actually be up to date with paperwork - mostly generated by the change in circumstances).

Today I am grateful for encountering really helpful people over the past two days, who all helped me achieve fairly complicated changes with a minimum of fuss. The film was excellent and I have just opened my box of large pieces of embroidery material - going to (start) using what I have, no good to anyone just sitting in a box.

Today I grateful for my lovely family, getting my mortgage info sent off, being able to help my sister, seeing my grandad, not getting rained on whilst dog walking, the company of my pets and a dry roof over our heads :)

The boy has fixed up one of his very ancient tablets for me so that I can. at least, read a book for now. Not that I don't have zillions of the old paper variety. It's very slow, though, so I will need to get a new one next month. I'm going to look on it as a very early birthday present. It'll save C racking his brain in December.
My house desperately needs a good declutter and tidy up. I bought some little baskets from the pound shop yesterday (extravagant, I know!} and the spice drawers and cutlery drawer and now all tidied out. No more having two (or even three) of the same thing opened - I know where everything is - and the jars are not falling all over the place. Today I might tackle the cupboard where all the jars of chutney, etc that C has accumulated over the years are stored. That should be an adventure!
Just about to have a coffee and then out for a walk while the rain is off.
    Have a good Saturday.
