    Evening everyone!

So sorry for my absence - my head seems to have been very full of late, and still dithering about new opportunities...

    I'm actually on NSD number 17 :)

    However...

Food budgets well and truly blown. Trying to manage a high protein/low carb diet is pretty expensive - even with batch cooking. I've spent very little on myself until today, when I bought a new shirt/tie/belt/socks to match the suit I already have for any interview opportunities that may come along...

I have decided to just cheerlead next month as I'm away for the best part of 2 weeks visiting family in Manchester, and having a few days to myself in town partying and exploring. I want a break - and I have put aside some money, so will be having a break from penny-watching... Though I'm sure the guilt will set in haha!!!

Pay day tomorrow so will look at budgets and do some kind of plan to make sure I have plenty left or the last few weeks in August.

    Hugs to all x

A fuddle is just a buffet really. Don't know why we call it a fuddle lol. :) Must be a Nottingham/Derbyshire dialect thing :)

Quick check in to say NSD no. 14 and healthy day no. 16. Nothing much else to report, just ticking along. Should get to see my payslip tomorrow so know what I have to play with in August.

I am grateful today for a free bus journey as the oyster wasn't working, for seeing my counsellor, for dd being truly impressed that I successfully changed the batteries in her mp3 player (I have trained her to go to daddy when things like that need doing, but he was out), for crafting with dd, for an NSD, for not getting too wet, for chicken and mushroom satay for tea adapted from AGCJ, for dd eating like a horse (still eating now!) instead of like a gnat, for the gaggle of kiddies playing well together outside.

evening all and apologies for going AWOL
Laura Lozzle - fuddle must be a Midlands thing cos we also have it in Leicestershire. Only heard it recently though...

Haven't been on much as we were away and dealing with some family stuff (not my immediate family)

Pay day on Monday and another month of saving - quite excited to have kept it up for so many months.

Exercise going really well. Worried the OH by going for a 10k run with no idea where I'd end up. My legs are feeling the hills but I loved every footstep. Wish we had the Scottish landscape down here in Leicestershire!

I'm going to attempt to read back over posts now...

    Morning all,

I'm sorry I've got out of the habit of posting daily and I've only had about 5 SFDs this month! I will be better next month.

Yesterday was a spendy day as I needed to pay for the next set of SW meetings. I'm slightly annoyed that afterwards they announced that if I'd signed up for more I would have got a free cookbook but as it's already been processed it was too late. Oh well. I had lost weight for the first time in about two months, I hadn't stick to it well during the marking season, so I'm chuffed to be making progress again. I'm determined to lose a stone over the 6 week holiday.

Today will be spendy as I've booked in for a facial as a treat for doing 3 exam marking contracts. I used to let myself have one month but I haven't been since January so it'll be lovely.

Not much else to report, I did some batch cooking yesterday and will do more today :) Even in the holidays I find it more efficient than cooking every night just for one person.

Hope you all have a lovely day

Another NSD yesterday as I stayed in. Did a little bit of housework and cooking and sorted out the budgets for next month. My tablet's broken. It won't charge so I think the little connector thingy inside (I'm very technical as you can see) has broken again. C wanted to buy me a new one but I'm going to take it to the wee man in shopping centre to see if he can fix it. That's very MSE of me - before I joined this forum I would have just said yes to a new one.
Not sure what we'll get up to today. Really heavy rain again. Shall we get wet on a walk or sit in listening to the incessant drilling and hammering?

The doctor visit went well. Could only have a single appointment so had to talk fast. My depression score has lowered (quite good in fact), got my repeat meds - got brownie points for saying I would get anti-histamines at the £ emporium. Although I don't pay, the NHS still has to pay the dispensing charge.

Sorted all but one of mum's meds - the 2 she doesn't use / has a backlog of have been taken off the prescription for now (next 3 years possibly), the vaccine hasn't happened because it's in short supply nationwide, doctor will check with the practice nurse to see if they have any.

Today I have to sort out the most important one by phoning the consultant's secretary and asking for clear instructions (exact name, dosage and frequency) to be faxed through to our doctor's. Then it's how long it takes to go through to the pharmacy and get added to the list (medicine delivery).

Also need to gather and photocopy all the evidence that needs to go off with the travel vouchers application (photos to be done tomorrow, as mum was too ill on Monday) and try to sort the Council Tax out - I've got her the 25% single occupant discount but they have changed it back to cash payments, need it back on dd.

Then off to see best buddy and then to mum's and if my brain is still working by tonight, I have a warm homes application to fill in for myself. Not going to beat myself up if I don't get through today's list, too much depends on other people being co-operative/ helpful.

    Have a joyful day, turtles.
