Hi Sunday Savers,
Today hasn't been bad.....did succumb to a chocolate brownie while we were out an event but we shared one & had it with our flask of coffee. Later succumbed to toasted teacakes in Waitrose cafe but they were reduced as end of day. Good bits of money saving today:
*Took picnic lunch out with us.
*Picked a place to visit where we can get in with our annual pass.
*Bought TWO Christmas presents!!
*Good freebies from Waitrose: 2 coffees, 1 tin expensive cat food, food magazine.
*Waitrose YS final reductions were being done. Picked some items....then put them all back except a bag of 4 perfect green peppers for 30p the lot. Will slice & freeze. Everything else went back on the grounds that nothing is a bargain if you don't need it & because the peppers & a 60p loaf used pretty much the last of July Week 1's grocery budget.
&
*Watered & fed veggies. Today's garden pickings = courgette, cucumber, new potatoes, parsley & first handful of french beans.
*Synchronised our diaries for the week ahead.
*Mr f got all Mister Fixit this afternoon & sorted out the non-opening conservatory door & assessed if mending his camping chair is possible. Apparently it is....for the price of a nut & bolt.
*Made tomorrow's packed lunch.
Intend really to keep the MSE faith over the coming week....in fact, I am planning to step it up. Planning to spend less time online though, so must keep any posts short & sweet. Have scheduled in lots of writing so need to keep myself focused.
Wishing everyone a positive & productive week. DNMS - the party sounds lovely. Hope little gd had a fab time.
F xx2026's challenges: 1) To rebuild our Emergency Fund to at least £5k.
2) To read 50 books (12/50) 3) The Re-Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg
Remember....if you have to put it on a credit card, extend your overdraft or take out a loan to buy whatever it is, you probably can't afford it, as that's not your money, it's somebody else's!0
