Yep, definitely relate to that. I've been off this week and to be honest I don't know where I fit a full time job with a commute in :rotfl: at least parts of my house are tidy and clean
although I do feel like it's a holey bucket I just will never get full. I do all the washing, turn my back and there's more etc...

I can also relate to that. Dd is generally to blame for the washing. Now if I could convince my family to give up food, drink and clothes for a few days whilst simultaneously helping to clean and tidy the house, I feel we may be able to get on top of the worst of it for a little while:rotfl:Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

I did my big shop for all the non fresh stuff tonight and tried putting all the cat food cartons (three big ones at £13 each) through with nine other non reduced things to qualify for price matching and got £6 off :T I need to think about this a bit more but next time I may split my shopping into two parts as I'm going along, one part stuff that isn't reduced and is probably cheaper elsewhere, the other part stuff that is already reduced. I'm pretty sure that if you buy item A that is a pound cheaper at Asda and item B that is on special offer so is a pound cheaper than Asda then they cancel each other out if they are in the same basket.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)

Hello Friday Friends,
Thanks for asking Purplefairy. I'm ok...just feeling a bit achey & low. Hospital appt this week rather points to new drug treatment I was given not really working so I am probably looking at putting up with it or big surgery. Booo. And bah! And also some unprintable things.
This week on the MSE front however has been pretty good. Here's a round-up:
All laundry dried for free on line, June's budget reconciled, July's budget set, first grocery shop of the month on target, meal planned making use of what's in freezer, baked bread....rolls, a wholemeal rye loaf & a sourdough loaf, picnic & snacks packed for day out tomorrow, transferred money from savings to pay for new washing machine & clear outstanding bit on a CC (annoyed to use savings but better than paying interest), posted an ebay item & sold another, caught up with some surveys, checked Holiday Piggy to see when we can pay off holiday cottage balance, did some sums to see if we can afford a few nights away in our tent, rediscovered mushroom dopiaza recipe....v tasty, healthy & cheap...esp if you find ys mushrooms, did rubber chicken duties, watered & fed veg as necessary, free bunch of flowers from garden to cheer up lounge windowsill, nearly finished socks for present box, no food waste at all this week, 2 jugs full of free plant food from worm composter after all the rain & a £1 'green' delivery slot for tonight's online grocery delivery.
Feeling pretty motivated with money saving at the moment. Just as well as we have effectively had no payrise since about 2008 & the rise in food prices etc is becoming very noticeable now. I'm glad for the skills I have in the cooking from scratch, growing food & make do & mend department as I feel certain we are in for another recession.......actually I don't think the previous one ever ended.
On that cheery note, I'm off to make a cup of tea!
F xx2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever
2) To read 100 books (46/100) 3) The Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg

Hello all,
I have had a reasonable MSE week, there are always room for improvements!
- Booked trains for wedding in Sep, the fare was £500 and now £130 and less stress than driving.
- I need to review grocery costs as I think these could do with looking at. Meal planning etc... The cupboards are full so maybe a couple of cheaper weeks she says hopefully?!
- DD has another birthday party this weekend so no entertainment to arrange, I have bought some gifts for the cupboard from the 2 for £15 sale, I think I will use my nectar points in the Sainbury's toy sale in Oct and restock.
- Water bills have been reduced and a refund on the way it has been a real difference to the bills. I would say it worth checking as each scheme seems have different income amounts.0 -
