    Afternoon All,

Have a great time on your hols Twins We've just celebrated our 32nd wedding anniversary:eek: I was a very young bride:p
I feel like I have achieved lots already today.
    -Packaged and posted 5 parcels
-dropped youngest off at doctors and then for his coach back to Leeds
    -Listed a pile of dresses
-did a freezer and food cupboard inventory and then wrote a meal plan around this.
-did most of the shopping at Lidl and just a few items from Tesco
-came back and put all the shopping away and then made a chilli with the mince in the freezer and used up the last few potatoes to make some chips to go with it.
-split the meat into portions for two. That way I don't pull out too much and waste anything.

All of the above in the pouring rain, I've been wet through several times! Finally sat down with a cuppa and a catch up on here.
Hope the weather is better where you are x

Determined sorry it's a bit late in the day. Here's the one I use but I use dried (but obviously cooked) chickpeas to make it cheaper

    Evening all!

It's payday today and, because of where weekends fall etc relative to invoicing date this one is an especially good one (paid for 23 days) so I have bitten the bullet and paid £1,000 off of my CC so I won't be paying them any interest this month :T It looks like there are other transactions still loitering though but I find it really hard to understand the statements on this one. I will give them a call when I am off next week.

While I was on there I toted up how much I have spent at Mr T in the last two weeks and it is horrifying  in 15 days I have spent £185 which is obviously way too much for two people and two cats. I really don't understand it because I *think* I am being thrifty with my YS bargains which I suppose I am but there's other stuff I'm buying on top at the same time. I haven't been able to get the huge boxes of cat food this month and have been paying through the nose for single boxes plus that amount includes one pack of cider that DS took to a BBQ at the weekend and also a couple of packs of tobacco (DS smokes.) The only positive thing is that I've spent a lot less on takeaways than I used to! Obviously I need to get a hold of this, I'm already planning a week of eating from the freezer next week when I'm off but I think it might need a bit more than that!

Work is all a bit frustrating working with the knob who got what I like to think of as my job ;) and when the other freelancer isn't spending her time running around the building to request retouching be done in person (when the system is that you just email and it's all done remotely) she's going to the IT department with problems when there is a telephone helpline. Meanwhile, I'm still sat there doing the lion's share of the work  Going to make a cup of tea takes her half an hour because she's a 'people' person and stands around chatting in the kitchen, I'm parched by the time she gets back!

The main line station I travel in to is being refurbished during August and NINE of the platforms will be closed so they will be running less trains. They have now put up the new timetables for this period and there will be half the usual number of trains plus they are saying we may have to queue to get into the station??!!! And that we may not be able to get on the first train (they will be half an hour apart), oh, joy of joys!

Your commute sounds a nightmare FVD - I certainly don't look back on mine with fondness! :(

Not much accomplished here yesterday, as I looked after little GD all day. She is obsessed with acting out Beatrix Potter's tale of Samuel Whiskers atm (a story about a kitten who hides from his mother, gets into trouble, is captured by rats and then rescued) :rotfl:If we had to do it once, we had to do it 20 times. She cried when it was time to go home, because they don't have hiding places for 'kittens' (teddies) like a flour bin and 'treasure chests' there :rotfl: My 'treasure chests' actually contain bedding, throws etc btw, as opposed to actual treasure :rotfl:

    Anyway, must do better today!
I have a hair appointment (just a trim, won't break the bank) and a doctor's appointment this morning
    Apart from that:
Find my phone - GD watched videos on it for a short time yesterday, between kitten activity and has put it down somewhere
    Dog walk
Tidy up after all the 'kitten' activity yesterday. This will include tidying the contents of my treasure chests :rotfl:
Text DS and ask him to come and pick up his stuff - he moved out several months ago
Make 'pizzas' out of some rolls which didn't get used and have gone a bit stale
    All food from home
Load of washing, dry outside or on airer, depending on weather
See if anything needs attention in the garden
    Check for surveys

Hope everyone has a good day :)

    Morning frugal ones :hello:

Dawn your day with your DGD sounds lovely, I'm sure you're making some wonderful memories for her

FVD I feel your pain on your commute, albeit mines by car, but too many miles and it takes far too long. Is there anyway you could get a similar job nearer to home (or travel in another direction?)

    Determined BG is British Gas

    My list for today:
Go to the gym - done
HM pizza and frozen basics mozzarella out of freezer for smalls tea tomorrow, need to get something out for ours tonight done
    pick up parcel for DH
Pack up 2 returns and send back
Walk with friend tonight, hope rain holds off
2 more things of AL/annoying thing list - only 2 left it seems - although they are the trickiest two :o
Get ahead and do a meal plan for next week, still eating out of freezer :D
If I get my jobs done, may pop to fruit picking place later and see if I can get some raspberries and strawberries I am a lover of soft fruit, but also keen to make some raspberry jam whilst they're in season not done, they're closed due to rain so may pop to town as market is on and see if any there
Check banking, surveys and FPL done, £3 Pc and product to test on the way

    Enjoy your day folks :)

YS sandwich and cherries in my bag but got up late and forgot to bring a couple of biscuits, I'll just have to hope for free cakes at work!

Our bins are collected today so this evening will be spent cleaning the wheelie bin, oh yes, I'm really living the dream!

I'd like to fit in my 'big' shopping trip but I'm not sure there will be time, I want to properly stock up on stuff like cat food/litter toilet rolls etc from the biggish SM so I don't run out and end up paying a premium buying from the limited choice at the small one.

Have a good day all :)
