Hi HHD & SS, thank you ..it feels amazing and the relief is enormous. Even though my debt was manageable it just feels like such a relief now the final payment has gone.
Today has been another pottering day. I went for a run with pup who then needed a good bath as he was so mucky but a very happy dog. Typed up my minutes from my volunteer thing last night but will read them again tomorrow before I issue. Heading to pick up nephew no 2 in a wee bit from sports and then I guess I will have to stare at the fridge and hope for some inspiration for dinner.
Tomorrow I'm popping to the big town to get pup his treats and 2 birthday cards. I might even go mad and treat my Mum to a coffee out0 -

Does it feel weird not having to think how to pay chunks of the debt off? I can't wait for that day! :rotfl:0 -

Hi Lilith & HHD, I think it will really hit me next month when my money is mine
& not going towards debt. Can’t wait to get properly started on my savings plans
. Will cheer you on Lilith.
Best feeling is being debt free:j:j0 -
Hope you have a nice time today with your mum Munchin. I think a celebratory debt-free coffee would be on the cards!:DFinally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟

Hi SS, it might have been a bit more than a coffee
but it was fun
.
Headed into town and had a few spends. Mum was looking for a pair of boots but couldn't find any however I found a pair which I know I don't need but they were gorgeous and they were reduced from £39.50 to £10.49 in M&S. We then popped into Primark and I got a dress and pair of light trousers (probably not come out of the wardrobe until Summer) for £17. Spent £7.50 in Pets at home (planned) and £5.49 in card shop (planned) finally £16 for toastie sarnie & soup x 2. I offered to buy coffee and then Mum said she would pay for lunch but I couldn't let her do that. Total spends £56.48. I keep thinking - Did I really need the boots, dress and trousers??......trousers are a yes but possibly not the other 2. See frittering monster is never too far away. Now I really don't have any spare cash in February but I enjoyed the trip out with my Mum and she even remarked that we haven't done a coffee trip out in ages. At £16 I'm not surprised0 -
I personally think it's about balance. I don't believe there's anything inherently wrong in "wanting" something, but, like for me, the wanting overtook the "needing" and got me into the pickle I'm in.
I won't begrudge myself buying things I "want", because it's nice to treat ourselves. Now, however, I will only do it if I have the money and not put it on credit as that's how it all started (and continued!) last time0 -
Hi Lilith - it will take me a while to not feel guilty about every spend but I'm sure I will get there
.
I've decided to sign off from this diary and start a new one. I'm absolutely no use with putting links into threads or into my signature but I'm now at "Debt Free Munchin!! Now to stay that way...". I would love you all to keep me company over there ....and to keep me on the straight and narrow:D
