Hi HHD - I will indeed :D. As soon as my salary hits my account it is going straight back out to pay my final debt:). Might be a wee while before I feel debt free.

Yeah today is the day :D. I have just paid the last £500 to my credit card and I’m finally debt free!!!!!

Ok, February is going to be squeaky on the money front but it is so worth it because from March onwards I will be putting those debt payments to savings. I started in debt too many years ago to count and got used to having loans and an overdraft and didn’t learn the deferred gratification trick. If I wanted something I got it and I am terrible for impulse spending. So now that I have cleared my debt …again :o. I need to work on saving my money and having funds built up before I buy anything.

During the coming year I want to focus on my savings and the main things are –

    - An Emergency fund for a rainy day – hopefully £2000 by Dec and the second goal will be £10,000 and the final goal is £30,000.

    - Holiday 2018 – we’re planning on going away for a week in Sept so will aim for £600.

    - Finally a dream trip to the Maldives in 2019 – approx. £3000.

So in the months ahead my diary will continue to be about penny pinching….probably giving off to myself about frittering and mainly about getting my budgets funded. The emergency fund will be a very slow work in progress but I will get there :D

    Thanks Purple :D, so happy:j

I had a few spends today but not much. Car had got stuck in snow last week & was totally claried in muck which hasn’t been a problem in the dark mornings & nights as I could ignore it but had to get it washed today. I also hoovered it out and cleaned inside. I cleaned the house & then popped to my mums for a bit. Rang Mum to see if she needed anything which is why I bought salad & milk.
