Tell me about it HHD... although I fall under 1 boss my work sometimes touches both areas & as there is a bit of a power thing going on between them then we are increasingly being caught in the fall out :(. Hopefully these massive scary biscuits crossovers shouldn’t happen too often.

So I only have 3 days until I’m on leave:). Work colleagues are surprised I’m just going to be at home but there is plenty to keep me busy & we have a few day trip plans.

Money front- I have £5 extra in my bank account which I can add to my £9.72 spends remaining:o. Yes I know I’m not skint like many who are in terrible circumstances and I know I can tap into other funds if need be. I can’t imagine how awful it is for those who truly have nowhere to turn. As the saying goes ‘I’m not half thankful’.

I’ve signed up to the ‘saving £12,000’ thread for after debt is paid. No hope of saving that amount so aiming for half. I’m also going to set up new bank savings account for my Maldives trip (I keep referring to it as if it’s all booked so that I have to save and focus).

I’m going to my volunteer thing tonight and they are planning for haggis afterwards. I’ve had haggis in Scotland & it was nice but the haggis they served last year at this event was rank....expect the same tonight _pale_

Bit rambly today but I blame lack of sleep.

    Morning,

Managed to avoid the haggis last night & the wee dram they tried to foist on me. OH was so disappointed with me :)..I think he would have wanted me to bring the whiskey home with me:). It was a good night and I was elected onto the Board .... another volunteer/development opportunity :o. It’s nice to be needed.

I have my headphones on & listening to music very loudly. A wee woman got on train and is chatting behind me so loudly and her voice is going through me. I don’t think she gets the etiquette of this early morning train... we all get 2 seats each & we talk quietly if at all...basically we’re all trying to pretend we’re still in bed.

I had therapist last night and I can see her preparing to release me into the wild. She did a survey with me which I had done when I went to her at first in Sept and last night I got a 4 which means I’m healthy & happy (prob not technical term). 2 months ago I would have panicked at not having her to go to but feeling good and a lot more together.

Money front - skint ....come on pay day:o

  • How great it is that you are about to finish with your therapist. You’ve come a long way Munchin. :T

Re the train - we have quiet coaches on our line. In the morning commute it works well as most people are asleep, reading or plugged in quietly. Some guy the other day though had his earphones up so loud I could hear it a few rows down! About three people near him though suddenly woke up and had a right go at him!:rotfl: so it wasn’t a quiet coach any more!

Re your OH - you should have brought him back some of the weird haggis!:rotfl:

Thanks Seaside - feel so good & will have bad days but feel I can cope :).

Quiet coaches are a brilliant idea.... I would enhance them by having duvets & pillows:D.

Last night was again another early night but I need a full week of early nights to catch up.

I get my payslip today...it changes a tiny bit each month because of my travel (£3 a day then £8 in Nov :)). Can’t wait til it hits my account....it has been so long since it has been this squeaky.

Work is going to be another busy day but I’m starting to get on top of things and at 6pm tonight my leave starts :D.

Starting my leave with my yoga class tmw morning, then need to do a shop as cupboards are very bare. Think we are heading out for dinner on Sunday (voucher) & plans for the week are tidying, volunteering and going out for lunch with my mum.

    Thanks HHD,

Today was fun :). I went to yoga first thing and then popped into Asda where I got a lot of veg as therapist pointed out that I really need to add more veg to my diet. I got a text from my brother to say him and his kids were stopping at mine on their way somewhere so I scooted home and they arrived with buns :).

Had a lovely hour chatting to my brother and then it was time to chop the veg and try and work a lot more into my diet. I got a bag of discounted Kale and mixed it with oil, chillies, salt and pepper and cooked for 15 mins and it worked out really well. I also chopped peppers, carrots, onions, broccoli and roasted them so had a roast pepper and houmous wrap for lunch. I now have lots of roast veg in fridge ready to eat.

I typed up some minutes from my volunteer thing and did a quick tidy of the house. OH landed home with some nibblies he had got on discount so I think our dinner will be tapas tmw night.

Budget worked out for February which will again be squeaky but that's because I have a credit card to clear. I have £7.75 in bank account and £17.72 in purse until Monday.

    Afternoon all,

I've been out and about this morning but managed to avoid the shops:).

Tomorrow my salary hits my bank account and will go straight towards my credit card and that will be it gone :D. I then have to start saving to ensure I have money sitting for any eventualities that come up to make sure I'm not sitting here in the same position a year from now.

I also have to change the name of my diary as it will be trying to live within my means which is where I have fallen down in the past.

Just been reading your diary. How awesome that you'll be debt free from tomorrow!

I think this has been my issue too; living within my means. I feel like I have to change my mindset, rather than *just* paying off the debt. I'm hoping I can do this during my journey.
