No miracle improvement, so it will be a dose up and struggle on scenario for work tonight. Think going outside is going to be a major shock, it's blooming awful out there and I have barely left my bed for the last 3 days!

No idea what is up with me, I used to be able to shake things like this off with no worries at all and carry on, all I want to do is sleep. My ribs hurt from the coughing (I even popped a muscle in my tummy when sneezing) and it feels like someone has my head in a vice most of the time. Never had a cold like it!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Dear Sue, I'm worried about you. From your description I feel that you should at least get in touch with the NHS 111 telephone number. I'm not a doctor or nurse or medically trained, but worried you might have/be getting pneumonia. Sometimes it's necessary to take time off work.

Sending Vibes that you feel better soon. Hugs from Liverpool.

I suspect the same Maggie, I had pneumonia last year and my chest feels similar although not quite at the same stage as it was last year when I made the appointment.

Re missing work, I'm afraid that is not possible. If I don't go to work, I don't get paid and I am already at the minimum of income and only just getting by, by being extremely frugal and watching every penny. To have missed tonight's shift would have meant losing £36, half of my wages for this week and after only being able to do a few hours last week (went to Wembley for a gig), money is in even shorter supply than usual (I earned £25!)

I'm here now anyway, it's not too bad as because the weather is absolutely awful, we haven't had any customers in. Now if only it can be like that for tomorrow's shift and I will have scraped through it.

"Found" the box of Xmas stuff... right out in the open it was, in "the obvious box", the box they had always been in, out on plain view in Bed2.

Put tree up, now sorting out what baubles, tinsel, etc I've got and where to put it on the tree, table under the tree, round the room :)

Had a "lucky find"... I have to send off a card to a sibling/OH, right there, on the top of the box, was a card I'd bought in a previous year, then bought another and sent the 2nd find off instead... so I no longer need to find a Xmas card for them as I'd put it away in the Xmas box last year, which is where it should've been put... ideal. Saves me a job then!

Not planning on leaving the house today.... I've food in that needs to be eaten, so no reason to go out.

I have work again (my weekend 'on'). Much better day here today, the sun is even out although it will be interesting to see if the town's Christmas tree is still standing, I got very concerned it was going to come down on my car whilst at work last night it was swaying so badly and we had some belter gusts after I got home.

Still feel cack, still coughing but I am a stubborn begger and I WILL get through the shift today.

No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I must be very, very speshul then. :(;)

I am not speshul, but I have irregular sleep because
    a) genetically I am a nightowl, but my job requires me to get up early, and
    b) menopause.

I'd just gone back to bed at that time. I've got a cold, a horrible cold and I am sleeping in two hour stretches (which is an improvement on the 1 hour stretch of two days ago).

No idea what I am going to do about work tonight, I feel awful but can't afford to not work, especially this close to Christmas and with the boys home so more expenses. Think it will be a dose up and struggle on scenario or hope for major improvements in the next 6 hours.

Sounds awful. Sending thoughts and hugs and prayers.

Hoping for another quiet shift for you, Sue.

What was the outcome of the OT's recommendations, Sue? Are you staying in your home even though it can't be adapted for you, or are you having to move somewhere else even though there won't be space for your boys? And if you are staying, are they able to make some of the adaptations even if they can't make them all??

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Lydia - The idea is I move but that could be 2 or 3 years away as suitable properties are extremely rare and there are people in worse situations than me who have already been waiting for that amount of time. In the meantime, I am pretty much being left to fester with no help or adaptations.

There would be a way of sorting something in my own home if they were not so set on particular rules, for example having to have a wetroom, I would take a shower with minimal step and rails instead but apparently that is not allowed, it has to be a wetroom and it has to be wheelchair accessible. In the meantime, I don't have access to proper wash facilities as trying to get into the over bath shower is too dangerous and has been banned by the OT (and the boys).
