Love that dress Lydia! So classic, and gorgeous deep blue. Envy envy!
He looks like the one on the Felix ads! He's 6 months old now. Sorry, not able to put a pic on here. Suffice it to say we are all besotted with him. Home just didn't seem like home without a cat in it, he's cheered me up immensely despite being back to having to consider whether we can get him into a cattery if we want to go away. We had booked a weekend coach trip before we knew we were going to have a kitten (he needed a home in a hurry), but were able to get him into the cattery we'd used for our previous cat; but the manager is leaving after Christmas so I think we'll have to choose another one for him. (DS still lives at home, but he works long hours so can't always be around to feed him, plus he'd get lonely The kitten, not DS

Wide Awake Club.
Still not "sorted out" from the last time, the other day. I thought I was getting back to normal, but clearly not because ... here I am again.
Oh well. It's not unusual, I've spent my life having trouble sleeping.

Apparently irregular sleeping patterns are well correlated with being speshul. Don't know if you knew that.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

OH travels a lot for work. When hit with jetlag, he always makes the mistake that one unbroken night's sleep has sorted it, whereas one unbroken nights sleep is generally followed by a bad nights sleep. It takes twice as long as you expect to recover your sleep cycle.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I must be very, very speshul then.

Zag, with regard to rap, it may not be music, but think of it as poetry, albeit with a beat.

Yes, it's one of the "things I always knew I had a big problem with", but never knew why until I found my label
I've had it "forever".... a long history of sleep issues, problems etc since a child.
I would say I've rarely had "a good night's sleep" in my whole life.
Mum used to say "the first night of any holiday I had to stay up all night because you'd climb the walls".
I don't like staying away overnight anywhere because "I have to feel free to get up at 3am and wander about, even going outside", which isn't conducive to staying anywhere except my own home.
Being speshul has meant, in a lot of cases, that "things I always knew I did" suddenly had a reason, as opposed to being a frustrating annoyance I had no explanation for ... yet often/continually "got into fights" about because I did those things.... and can't help it.
The thing is... just because you tell a blind person they're blind, they can't just then open their eyes and see. But once they have that label they know why they can't see the colours .... and no longer have to "fight" people who tell them they're just "being awkward" when they try to simply say "I can't see that".... the label gives the reason ... but the knowledge can't change what you can/can't do. You can't then "change, to fit in" ... if you're blind, you're blind - and that's it. Nobody questions them
I hate the perpetual questioning by others, their frustration that I should just change.
I can't sleep. I'm fine with that... and when I'm out of sync for days because of it ... I know it's because I couldn't sleep. But no amount of "remedies" or drinking hot chocolate before bedtime will change it .... I can't sleep, that's it. I deal with it by accepting it. By accepting "this is what I do", I can let go of the frustration ... and get up and surf wikipedia or something instead

I'd just gone back to bed at that time. I've got a cold, a horrible cold and I am sleeping in two hour stretches (which is an improvement on the 1 hour stretch of two days ago).
No idea what I am going to do about work tonight, I feel awful but can't afford to not work, especially this close to Christmas and with the boys home so more expenses. Think it will be a dose up and struggle on scenario or hope for major improvements in the next 6 hours. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0
