Then the rep would be well advised to say "I find that couples usually want to discuss these things with each other before finalising a decision, so I prefer to speak to both partners at the same time." That way he can avoid giving the impression that he thinks the woman isn't worth talking to.
The wording/insistence would be the same in the conversation with either initial sex... it's how that's interpreted/received that differs here.0 -

My point is that any individual customer doesn't know that he says the same thing regardless of initial sex, so a woman hearing him say "I won't talk to you without your partner" is likely to conclude that he's being sexist, whereas a woman hearing "I always insist on talking to both partners together" probably won't. Thus a change of wording would protect him from being unjustly suspected of sexism.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Tumbleweeds are carefree!
So if they're in here perhaps we will be carefree too!
(I claim a prize for a most obscure and convoluted reference.
I remembered the song as being "Happy as a tumbleweed" from sometime in the early 60s which I think was the last time I heard it!)0 -
I can assure you this thread is nowhere near the point where it deserves this:

Black and white cowboy films from our youth
Now they'd shout CULTURAL APPROPRIATION!!!! and ban the films.

Not much has been going on in my neck of the woods...go to work, come home, go to bed, rinse and repeat.
Still no new operation date for dad, he is now getting very low believing that he has been forgotten about again. Mind you, both him and mum have benefited from a little rest and a break from all the stress. Mum finally had her procedure done last Saturday, one polyp removed (and sent for testing) and diverticular diagnosed, she's relieved but still feeling quite washed out from it all.
I've been around on MSE and after reading lots of mortgage free threads (I'm weird, I get a thrill from reading about people doing well and paying down their mortgages, I'm the same on the debt free wannabee board too), started doing surveys again to try to boost my income a little...already got my first Amazon voucher ready for Christmas.
Talking about savings, I am so proud of myself. I've managed to save the equivalent of a week of wages by putting my odd coins in a jar daily and then on a Thursday before collecting my wages, emptying my purse into the savings pot. It's not a lot (I have an alternating rota, a short week and a long week. A short week is worth just shy of £50, a long week is just over £90..I've currently saved the equivalent of slightly over a short week), bearing in mind the amounts involved, I'm really quite chuffed. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Just heard from the hospital, we are back on the stress wagon from next Tuesday.....We made it! I had two colonoscopies in October. So far, they have removed part of one polyp. I am due another colonoscopy next month some time to continue the process. I do get the feeling that there may be no end to it.
I haven't had the biopsy results, but I assume they would have contacted me by now if there is a malignancy.
Like your mum, I found the process really washed me out (metaphorically as well as literally, ho ho).
We had supper with a friend, who told us cheerfully that Mrs ... died from having a colonoscopy, as they perforated her bowel. So, it's not just me who was born without the tact gene.
I hope your dad gets his operation soon. It sometimes helps to contact the consultant's secretary, believe it or not. Explain the situation and that your dad is quite happy to take a short-notice appointment if there's a cancellation. It's worth a try, as it keeps Dad in people's minds.
Edit: Ah, just read your post above about next Tuesday. Good. They hadn't forgotten him really. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
