Some women can be very hard to get through to!

On holiday, I got snapped at twice by the same woman who took objection to me saying things (in a very nice way, I hasten to add, not patronisingly or anything) that were aimed at trying to help her.
She was the same person who made a very unnecessary remark about part of my anatomy. (Not an 'intimate' part!)

    No good deed goes unpunished.
Somebody snaps at me I ignore it, and them afterwards.
They have another go, and I tell them where to get off.

Well, yes. The first time, I sort of shrugged it off, but the second time, I did say that I was only trying to help, and then decided to steer clear of her after that.

Not all of them. You need to look for the less well turned out shops. I can think of at least three slightly more shambolic shops in my near vicinity.
They're the ones I usually head for. More interesting tat. Better prices. Chance of a bargain.
The posh ones are OK, but too gentrified IMHO.

It does depend, though. I have still had bargains in Oxfam and 'posher'-looking shops.

I mean, I don't mind paying as much as £6-£7 for a really nice top, when I'd have to pay £15-25, at least, for it new.
Most of my tops are between £2 and £5 though.

TBH these days unless someone asks me directly, in the real world, I don't offer help of any sort.
Let. 'em get on with it.
The last time I said anything, was a bloke standing right on a cliff edge in an area which is known for crumbling cliff edges and landslides. He laughed it off, more or less "Mind your own ******** business"
I lost interest at that point.

If a house were a possible once I had first got there I would ignore any attempts by the agent to dictate how long I spent on a viewing, as a vendor I would've very annoyed to hear that the agent had been rushing a potential buyer.

I would also work on trying to get between 5%-10% off asking price and set my asking price on the same basis.

Edit: you could always tell the agent that 300k is your max budget and that you are not yet under offer and see if they feel it is worthwhile 'wasting their time' to show you around?
    I think....

I don't really look for clothes. That's a bit different. Most stuff's not big enough for me anyway!

Oh, there's other stuff too! I've had jewellery, crockery and glassware, books, attachè cases/laptop bags etc., handbags, purses, a musical instrument, sheet music (which is great, but relatively rare these days), and sundry other stuff.

But GDB has repeatedly referred to being bewildered when the women in his life don't appreciate his response to their expressions of difficulties. This point is specifically addressed in the book. I think he would find it informative and helpful.

If there's some sheet music from Aged P's house left over after my brothers and I have taken what we want, would you be interested?
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
