That's why DD asked to go to an all girls' school. She was already on the receiving end of "all that carp" from some of the boys at her primary school.
Of course. Girls that age are interested in boys. They want the boys to like them and to pay them attention. That doesn't mean they want to give them all blow jobs, but they often do - either because they consider it a price worth paying to get the boy's attention, or because they didn't realise what the expectation would be until it feels like it's too late to back out, or because they've seen other girls get labelled frigid and don't want to suffer the same fate, or whatever.
Most of the boys aren't bad kids. It's just that the stuff they're watching online has given them the impression that giving blow jobs (and more) to anyone who wants it is what girls like doing best. It doesn't occur to them that what they're watching is *acting* by people who are paid for it. Then there's also the natural narcissism of the immature that assumes without thinking that "this is pleasurable for me so it must be pleasurable for the other person too".
You see, I was under the impression that early and mid-teens were given relationships lessons or the like, and that things like consent, expectations and respect were discussed in such lessons?
All I got was botany and the reproductive cycle of the amoeba, which wasn't a lot of help in dealing with boyfriends.**
Not that I had any boyfriends in my early teens!

They do. A bit. But provision is... variable. And infrequent - because schools have lots of other things to teach. It probably does have a positive effect on some, but doesn't get through to others, as you'd expect. After all, schools also have similar sessions about the dangers of smoking, and binge drinking etc etc. Doesn't mean all teenagers are therefore sensible enough not make stupid choices.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
And also peer pressure has to be considered.....We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

What's just occurred to me is that if that sort of behaviour was in the workplace, or in any other 'adult' place, it would be grounds for at best, a warning, or at worst, dismissal. It might even be considered a criminal offence....
..... and our poor pre-and early teens have to put up with it?(I just lurve spiders!)

It was my kids that gave me lessons on relationships. Things have changed so much.
Apparently now asking that your relationship be exclusive comes between asking someone out and asking them to be your girlfriend.
In my day all 3 meant the same thing.
Getting yourself checked out at a sexual health clinic is a sensible responsible action, rather than a sign you had a problem that needed sorting.I'm really glad I'm grown up.
Me too!

I've allowed the fuel in the car to get superlow.... on the basis of "I'll get round to it, just not yet" - but today I decided to go for it.
I loaded up the PetrolPrices website to find the cheapest - and what a load of old cobblers that turned out to be.
Firstly, it didn't show my Shell station that is the one I tend to go to... nor the one that's closest to my house .... I saw there was one about 2 miles from my house that said it was £1.299.... so I decided to pop past Shell and see how much ... else go to the other one.
Shell was at £1.399 ... so I swung past my nearest £1.399 ... so I drove the 2 miles and that one was £1.369, completely different to what PetrolPrices indicated. Last recorded yesterday they say. Not so!0 -
I don't like flats... I am sure one day I'll end up in one, but not for now .... but my eye was caught by one "fabulous" one, with great views, just in budget.
So .... how much are the service charges?
They're about £3-4k per year ... and another £2k if your flat has a private mooring (although they might tend to be those costing £450k to £1million).
£3k.... pffft. PFFFT.... PFFFFFFFT.
I'd probably find myself having to perpetually prove I lived there too ... as I shuffle in through the private gates clutching my Aldi bag0 -
Pastures, you might want to consider keeping your car better topped up... Apparently Saudi Arabia may increase the price of oil after the business with the journalist possibly being killed in their consulate. Retaliation if anyone sanctions them over it all.0
