I put £20 in today .... so it's 1/3rd full
I don't "need" it as a rule. I just "need" it when I want it mostly. It's not even car boot season any more ... so that reduces the whims of going somewhere.
It's probably more important to stock up on tinned food.... as that uses fuel to be distributed... so food going up would have more of an effect... one doesn't "need" a car to live... but food's pretty essential.0 -

Thanks! Good idea!
I hate filling up, so I usually fill it to near overflowing, so that I don't have to do it too often, but I'll certainly keep it topped up now.
Last week, I got a voucher from Sainsbury's for a fuel discount. Usually they give a you a voucher for a few pence off a litre of fuel, and as I sometimes need to go close to where their fuel station is, it's good.
However, on this occasion it was 8p off a litre if you spend £30 on Tu clothing.
As my tank was very low, I did a quick check to see if it would be worth it, as I was sure I could get something in Tu. However, 8p off a litre would only have saved me about £4 on a filling the tank, so it wasn't worth doing.
Also, saving a couple of pence a litre in my opinion doesn't warrant going out of my way to fill up. Different if I'm going that way anyway.(I just lurve spiders!)

... 8p off a litre if you spend £30 ....
As I drove past my nearest fuel station today (without pulling in as it was pricey) I noticed a huge banner on the forecourt saying "10p off per litre when you spend £20" - it was an M&S forecourt shop, so I presume an M&S fuel station.... it'd be easier to spend £20 on food and make an overall saving of 10p/litre .... but I wasn't in any frame of mind to work out what the deal actually was and then go through those convoluted motions when the dash has been telling me "Low Fuel" for the last week/20 miles.
I just googled it. BP Fuel.
https://www.bp.com/en_gb/united-kingdom/products-services/latest-offers/10p-off-per-litre.html
So, as I see it - I'd have to fill up my car (50 litres) .... then hold everybody up as I browse my way through the shop to buy £20 of stuff .... to make decisions and choices ... so I could present at the till in one transaction my goods of over £20 and my pump number for fuel. I'd have a lot of angry drivers behind me if I pulled that stunt!
It'd save £5 .... which doesn't sound that exciting unless one's got a great shop and can also time that offer with the reductions.
The link also states July to August this year .... but I definitely saw the banner today.0 -
Yes...that's the sort of deal that's worth going for if you're passing.PasturesNew wrote: »As I drove past my nearest fuel station today (without pulling in as it was pricey) I noticed a huge banner on the forecourt saying "10p off per litre when you spend £20" - it was an M&S forecourt shop, so I presume an M&S fuel station.... it'd be easier to spend £20 on food and make an overall saving of 10p/litre .... but I wasn't in any frame of mind to work out what the deal actually was and then go through those convoluted motions when the dash has been telling me "Low Fuel" for the last week/20 miles.

M&S is one of the stores I get certain things from, so it would be good to stock up with £20 of them and get some cheaper fuel at the same time.(I just lurve spiders!)

Be careful, because you might not get the fuel discount if you've already put the fuel in your car. You might need to buy the goods, get the voucher and then buy the fuel.PasturesNew wrote: »As I drove past my nearest fuel station today (without pulling in as it was pricey) I noticed a huge banner on the forecourt saying "10p off per litre when you spend £20" - it was an M&S forecourt shop, so I presume an M&S fuel station.... it'd be easier to spend £20 on food and make an overall saving of 10p/litre .... but I wasn't in any frame of mind to work out what the deal actually was and then go through those convoluted motions when the dash has been telling me "Low Fuel" for the last week/20 miles.

They will have non fuel parking places, so I'd park in one of those, buy the food, get the voucher, then move the car to a fuel pump.(I just lurve spiders!)

Ill fitting clothes from Tu isn't a trick - it's the absolute norm.
I'm a "petite" and they don't sell petites.... so all clothes from there "drown" me, with super long arms, super long legs, super long body lengths.... and the kids' jeans aren't any good either as they never have my size for sale. I'm "aged 13" in jeans.0 -

Too bl00dy hard .... innit. If they hit me with "you did that wrong" then whatever I'd just tried to buy would end up plastered across their windows as I stormed out due to a meltdown.0 -

I've bought sports trousers from Tu in the sales for doing Zumba in, which were £8 each, so that was good. Very stretchy with moisture control, so ideal.
Other than that, it's socks. I need socks at the mo.
Usually I can't stand the patterns and colours of their tops, though.(I just lurve spiders!)
