Happy Birthday Lydia.
Let's hope the second half of your life is equally successful but with fewer unpleasant bits.
Will you have cake?I think....0 -
Happy Birthday Lydia! _party_
Sun's just come out here, hope it's shining on your day!0 -
Happy birthday Lydia... big one next year, eh
It's sad (for me) when I realise... I'm old enough to be UR MOM!!
Cakes/eclairs: I'm not big on cake. If there's a cake I'll enjoy a slice, but a slice is enough, so it's not something I often have. Recently somebody took me to a small village that has monster eclairs, they're the size of my forearm... the central cream section is a full 1" wide, solid pillar of cream from one end to the other. No skimping. I think one costs just shy of £2! I was also gifted one .... which was bloody marvellous, so big I cut it in half and had it over two days.0 -

Don't worry. You're much younger than my actual mum, who would have been 89 this coming November if she were still alive.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Watch the prog and find out!
One thing I've noticed is that there is less and less good stuff available to buy at the local tip, than there used to be.
In the past I often came back with more stuff than I took!
I suppose one of the reasons is eBay, and Freegle/Freecycle, making it easier to get rid of stuff you might otherwise dump, as well as all the Charity shops etc.
I think another reason might be that the tip owners may sell a license to dealers to cream off anything that might have a profit in it, so there is less left on site for the public to pick over.
It's still good for random wood and melamine pieces, doors and baths/basins though! And small items of old flatpack furniture!
That's interesting, Pyxis -as far as we know, they don't sell anything at our tip at all! Certainly not to members of the public, at any rate.
ETA Ooh, Happy Birthday Lydia! :beer:0 -

I'm not convinced that'd be legally possible, and it'd be fairly unusual for it to be biologically possible too.0
