Yesterday I had a homemade chocolate eclair (not made in this home, I might add). It was perfection. I even had a dream last night that I was having another one for breakfast.

    What are NP's favourite cakes?

I do like eclairs, I must admit, although if they are chocolate ones, I have to peel the chocolate strip off first, as I don't like chocolate, and think it tastes much better without!

I'm also partial to a good custard tart, although they are sometimes too sweet.

And a slice of a nice, fresh, coffee and walnut cake goes down well, too!

A fruity cheesecake is also goody gumdrops.

    Caveat....
I do find a lot of cakes are too sweet for my taste, so it does all depend.
For example, the Coop's New York cheesecake is nice, but the same thing from another supermarket, even if it looks identical, is too sweet.

So in the absence of an eclair, I've just had a small slice of lemon meringue pie for breakfast.

I am not really a cake person, I prefer patisserie items. A nice fruit tart, or Sachertorte would be more to my liking if I had to have cake.

I love lemony cakes and tarts. It's the contrast between the sweet and the sour.

There again, I just like lemon juice. I'd drink it all day if it didn't attack tooth enamel.

We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I've had a think about the wedding dress and have decided it will probably come with me in the move. I know it is from a past event, no daughters etc etc and to some would seem a waste of time to keep it but in my hearts of hearts, I would miss it...it just has too much sentimental value to me.

It wasn't an expensive dress (I got a massive bargain at the time, still convinced it was marked up with the wrong price) but it is a beautiful dress.

Good for you! After all, if you still have it, you can always dispose of it later if you change your mind, whereas if you dispose of it now, that's that for ever!

I like lemon juice too! I always eat the slice of lemon in drinks or on top of things, skin and all! :D

Sue, I have no idea how Motability works. I noticed a Ford B Max for sale locally for £6k, 5 years old with only 15k miles. I have no idea whether that's cheap - probably not - but it's very low mileage. Can you get secondhand cars on the Motability scheme?

Edit: The B is Fiesta sized, whereas you probably prefer/need the C, which is based on the Focus.
