Talking of click and collect, I ordered two items from Amazon, one of which was an advanced order for a book. The other item came fairly promptly, and the collection place is a very short walk away, so better than risking being out when the postman knocks, etc.
So still waiting for the book.
Then a couple of days ago, I got an email from Amazon to say that that collection point is no more. They gave a list of alternative collection points........The next nearest one is miles away! And I mean, miles!
I've no idea what will happen when my book is due for delivery.(I just lurve spiders!)

Not cheap though.

I stood out as "looking odd" as I was the tiniest/thinnest person in the entire shop! My god people are getting so much larger in general ... you don't notice so much until you stand and look at an entire gathering!
I should've gone down the doughnut aisle... joined in a bit.
I'm a big anyway, but I'll admit to being bigger than I should be.
The size of some people amazes me though!
I really don't know how they manage to get that big.0 -
You can get big post boxes that are secure for parcels. I was looking at them a couple of years ago, but decided we didn't need one that often.

Well, it's only some types of delivery that are a pain.
Ones where you can specify the day, or give you the option to change the day are ideal. Some just wait until the day before and then text you and also give you the option to change the day/time.
However, some of the Amazon ones come via Royal Mail, and they seem to be the worst for options. Even arranging redelivery of a missed delivery has been fraught, with both the online way and the phone way refusing to let me complete the arrangement.
There wouldn't be any point in getting one of those parcel boxes. Delivery people who know me know of my 'safe'-ish place where they can leave things that don't need a signature, but so much does need a signature.
The click 'n' collect place was only a 2-3 minute walk up the road.
Another shop, even nearer, does click 'n' collect too, but not for Amazon, it seems. It just seems strange that the next nearest point is so far away, because other sellers give other options that are nearer, and still within walking distance!
The best delivery service I have experienced so far was DPD.
Also, if I know what day it's coming, I put a note on the front door to say I am in, just in case I'm upstairs or something, or don't hear the bell. That's proved useful......the drivers have told me so.(I just lurve spiders!)

It's all a random wonder to me.
I think I might go for a random wander.
I wonder if it'll rain randomly if I randomly wander. . .0 -

I hear you about RM, and DPD. I said here that I was expecting something from RM. Their tracking is erratic. "It's at the depot" "It's been delivered"
Yeah, thanks for that. . .
To be fair, on the day it arrived it did say "Out for delivery"
DPD on the other hand, have what I'd call a proper tracking system. "Your parcel is here on the map and your allotted delivery by Fred will be at 15:00"
I reckon RM is excellent at the postman level, I've said before, our's is great, and the ones who do cover are too.
I can only guess what their man-agers are like.0 -

Hehe, I surprised one of their guys once when he arrived to be greeted with "Good morning, you're early".
I'd just refreshed the tracking page, which then said he was 10 minutes away, when he rang the doorbell :rotfl:0 -
I'm now curious - how does randomly wondering differ from ordinary wondering?
It wasn't on my list of "things to wonder about on a regular basis". I'd completely forgotten really that it was going to arrive.... so it was random in that it suddenly occurred to me that I'd expected it to have arrived already
Wondering: You give it thought time regularly.
Randomly wondering: You don't give it any thought time and suddenly wonder.0
