I'm really glad you've finally found a "little man", Pastures

Me too, it's daunting. I'd tried before and was thwarted... this time I was pretty determined. I'd left a message that hadn't been replied to - and I couldn't remember where I'd got the number from or the number, but then I logged into my BT account to see if the number was there.... and it was, so I rang it, left a message and he phoned back the next day.

I'd decided I was having him at whatever price.... because then it was "job done" - then he told me his hourly rate and it's a price I'd have written down as my preferred rate. So win:win.

I've also checked his address/associations - and they are "well above par" ... and he's English. I can't work with foreigners. That isn't a racist statement, because of my problems with communication and being able to express myself and be understood, I can't work with somebody who I can't understand. It'd be the same if he were a Geordie/Scottish :)

I struggle with verbal communication and voice processing that's outside of a "southern accent".

If he's any good, there'll be a queue of NPs asking for his phone number. :)

Out of interest, when you worked in 'proper' jobs, how did you manage with people with non-Southern accents?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I live in Royston Vasey - he's a local little man, for locals.

Never met any.... seriously. Never have. Well, except 1-2 maybe. But, in the main, I could count them on the fingers of one hand in my entire history of working.

This isn't a child friendly development. It's better suited to families with adult children, professional sharers and people who have no children. The original advert said "no children", so not sure how they managed to get in.

That totally and utterly amazes me!

Is it written into the deeds/lease or whatever? If it is, why on earth hasn't it been enforced?

If it isn't embodied in the deeds, why did the advert say that?

    And how totally ironic. :(:(

(I suppose if those houses with families are rented out, the landlord doesn't care if the occupants break the deeds clauses. Not good, though).

I know that some types of retirement villages are for, say, over 50s, and specify no children, but those sorts of places usually have swingeing service and maintenance stipulations, and all sorts of rules and regs built-in to the deeds, but I've never heard of no children being a condition of a 'normal' i.e. not a retirement development.

You'll make it all so nice that you won't want to leave. :/

I suppose if it all completely calms down, and the child families leave, and you postpone moving, Pastures, at least you'd have had a good sort out and got those niggly things done! :)

The "no children" was the rental advert, not the buying/selling one.
Oh I see! That explains my confusion!

But as you say, it doesn't explain how it was then let to people with children.

I've not been able to play Where's Wally for a couple of days ... at first I thought "maybe there's some club for six weeks" ... but then I thought "bet somebody's taken them away .... and it'll just be a 3-4 day break and not 2-6 weeks" :(

It's been nice though .... Where's Wally's not been played since Monday (10am to 8pm).

Popped outside to see the ISS at 10pm...a nice transit tonight.

You can see Jupiter too..... SW-ish. It's the big bright one.

The big Mars should be rising above the roofline soon too.....sort of SSE-ish.

    And Saturn sort of S-ish.
