The promised rain overnight didn't materialise here and it is still 31 degrees in my north facing kitchen. My kitchen is the yardstick because until I go back to the US and buy more fly screen materials, that doesn't have one, so tend not to open the windows as I don't like insects around food.
We do now have flyscreens in the living room and bedrooms though, which are wonderful as the windows are wide open without a bug in site. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

Yesterday's highest temp was said to be 35, but travelling home from Bluewater in the afternoon the car's thermometer insisted it was 37 outside.
In desperation we have ordered a Dys0n fan. We can collect it from Argoose on Monday, and the weekend is due to be cooler in the meantime. OH did buy an aircon unit (or "air cooler" as it says on the box) but tbh it's just a more sophisticated version of putting a bowl of iced water in front of the fan.
GDB I trust everything will go swimmingly in the end. if DD gets stressed, perhaos remind her that, after all, the "getting married" is the main object of the exercise. Everything else is secondaryMazeltov to the happy couple!

How about this for annoying. I am apparently borderline for a powered wheelchair from the wheelchair service, not because my level of disability is not bad enough but because I am stubborn and have a "will attempt to do stuff regardless of the cost to me" attitude. So, if I didn't push myself, was a drama llama and didn't push through, I would have comfortably met the criteria.
A powered chair would change my life. It would give me some independence back, it would help with the isolation whilst the boys are away from home at uni but more than that, it would also stop the damage still being done by my having to attempt to do things just to do the basics of living.
I did ask her what did she expect me to do when I am on my own, if I didn't attempt to do stuff, to fight against the pain and the dislocations, I would go hungry, thirsty and would be laying in my own toilet functions if I didn't!
She did say she was going to ask for the adaptations to be enlarged to include widening doorways inside the home and I am to give her a call and go through the referral process again once they are done but that my biggest obstacle would still be my attitude. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

29.1 in our bedroom at 10 last night, ran the very noisy ac for a couple of hours which got it down to 25 but then turned it off so we could try to sleep. Still no rain here and it looks possible we will miss out again today and get only a few spots on Sunday.....I think....0 -
It's turning muggy here. The air's that "strange silent sort" that you feel prior to storms.0

We've hit 32 degrees on the seafront, it will be warmer in the town and the village I live in...I'm currently in the town at work and it is hot.
It's now 50 days since we had even the slightest of drops of rain but if forecasts are right, that will be changing later. We made it! So you've struggled for years on your own, probably to the detriment of your health, and they say you have attitude?
I just don't understand it.
Act all helpless and needy, and you get help. Try your hardest to help yourself, and get a bum's rush.(I just lurve spiders!)
