There's been a bit of rain overnight - not a lot, but it's definitely rained at some point a bit. Probably just a short/sharp shower.
Cooler/overcast/windy this morning. 75°F/24°C indoors with the doors open.0 -
Well! That was a surprise!
I woke up about 2 am to the sound of torrential rain, looked out of the window to see rivers flowing down the road!
I thought that was going to happen tomorrow!
It was really pelting, and went on quite a while.
At least my car got a good wash at last, and I won't have to water the pots, thank goodness.
Back to sunshine now, which is good, as there's a small outdoor festival I'm going to today, in another town.(I just lurve spiders!)

...
Just looked up this "small/outdoor" - that'll be windy then, trees are bending here! Gusting up to 42mph.
I just mapped it - it's 3.6 miles to walk - which would take me 40-50 minutes by public transport; that's a ridiculous amount of time to travel such a short distance isn't it! Almost quicker to walk (which it says is 1 hour 13 minutes)! Not that I'd bother, it's "not my sort of thing"... I just googled it "out of interest" as you mentioned it.
I bet you're off for a Mods breakfastgot your parka pressed?

There was a a time when soon-to-be-Mrs Zag's car had bits of it taken off when parked in front of our flat. It was known as beastying when it was medallions but we lost so many bits I wondered if someone was just stealing it on a part-time basis. And that Johnny Cash tune was playing in my head until we found a way of stopping it.
Aha, "One Piece at a Time".

Not one of his best but certainly one of the funniest0 -

Well, it might not have been so torrential where you are!(I just lurve spiders!)

I can see small clouds... but I think there might be blanket coverage much much higher up.... that just looks like open sky, but isn't.
We had thin cloud that looked like it might break up but at about 20:45 it started to thicken again - and at moonrise time it started chucking it down, so we gave up.0 -
More that the can do attitude counts against me, that I will still try to push things and have quite given in yet. I'll meet the criteria when I have a I give up attitude and won't still try to walk around and do things.
I don't understand it either but them's the rules...
Could you ask the first OT to speak to the wheelchair OT?
It does seem quite ridiculous that an OT doesn't know enough about your condition. I thought that was the whole point of OTs? To assess, based on the particular condition of the patient, not just a one size fits all.(I just lurve spiders!)

Wind gusting at 41mph - although I'd moved a couple of things in the garden so they didn't get blown over, I've just had to go out and grab something as it was taking off down the garden.....
Dark grey clouds keep moving overhead ... and the trees are really bending over!0 -

It's unfortunately the rules as well. Contact details have already been given, so keeping my fingers crossed some loop hole may be found or leeway given. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Just looking at car park locations and costs along the coastal areas. £12-15/day to park a car .... alternative is to drag/carry everything needed on public transport for 45-60 minutes (depending where you're going) ... or walk it 1-4 miles (depending).
It's not cheap or easy having a "free day at the beach" is it.
By the time you've packed up you've got a little shelter, maybe a folding chair (or not), couple of towels, windbreak would be nice (not practical unless in the car), bit of food - and a bit more, two litres of favourite pop, plastic plate/beaker, bit of basic cutlery, swimsuit, change of clothes/shorts/hat etc, cardigan in case it gets nippy, suncream, wet wipes.... which is why you don't see me saying "day at the beach"0
