How frustrating. I think that there's a theory that it's better for people to make efforts. That's not a judgemental puritan sort of attitude. The idea is that pushing yourself around keeps you stronger and fitter, whilst having a powered chair means that your muscles get weaker etc.

The trouble is that that may generally be true, but perhaps not in EDS cases, as you keep damaging connective tissue, which may become weaker rather than stronger as a result.

Spot on. By pushing myself on the days I really shouldn't, I am only damaging my connective tissue even more, ergo, making my rate of deterioration faster and my disability more profound quicker. The OT who referred me for a power chair understood the concept as she wanted to slow the rate of deterioration to give me more time until I became totally dependent on carers, the wheelchair OT didn't and the rules don't allow for it.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

The Met Office is forecasting dry weather today. The BBC is forecasting thundery showers. They can't both be right.

They agree it will be cloudy/rainy during the lunar eclipse.

It’s been dry today, and when I was at a hospital this evening to visit someone it decided to pour down for about an hour.

Technically both have been right, but I get your point :)

From the comments, it would appear that it wasn’t the lorry drivers fault.......

Another problem more generally may be these slipstream trailers, as they’re quite a bit taller than the olds style ones. They also mean that the mpg improvements aren’t as good when following one (Waits for Bugslet to tell me off)

I'm in another part of the world. I'm so sorry you've missed it back home, it is truly beautiful. I came to see if you were talking about it.

It's better than a solar eclipse because you can see it by looking directly at it! The moon turned from dark, dark red from when it rose to suddenly in complete shadow other than the shining diamond ring just as the earth started to move from the path of the sun's rays. The earth's shadow is crisp and clear, just amazing.

It's back to a glorious full moon nearly, with a tiny slither of shadow left across between 2 and 3pm if the moon were a clock face. Very, very gradual.

I feel very small and very lucky to be on our beautiful planet.
Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

You can get them, but they tend to be flimsy hanging ones. Mine are made from very stiff fibreglass. There is now a company in the UK now that does really good flyscreens (The Fly screen Queen), but now I've started getting my stuff in America and doing it "One Piece at a Time" I want them all to match. Though it does make me chuckle and want to break out in song to the tune of Johnny Cash.

There was a a time when soon-to-be-Mrs Zag's car had bits of it taken off when parked in front of our flat. It was known as beastying when it was medallions but we lost so many bits I wondered if someone was just stealing it on a part-time basis. And that Johnny Cash tune was playing in my head until we found a way of stopping it.

Wasn't it the beastie boys who rode that wave of petty vandalism.

We got about enough rain to wet the ground and a couple of rumbles but not enough to mean we didn't have to water the garden - and a real cool off, the bedroom was 29.1 last night and tonight it is down to 27.7....
    I think....

I've been waiting for somebody else to moan, but it looks like I'm going to have to do this myself ....

Where you've got four images, there's no space between them - so, on my screen, the forum page width is nearly 3' across....

Ditto for the next person/post that quoted it in its entirety :)

We got flash flooding and a land/range rover (some say land others say range) in the sea....

Doesn't feel that much cooler in my bedroom.

Found an article about the car and it is a range rover http://www.eadt.co.uk/news/car-stuck-in-sea-near-cliff-road-in-felixstowe-1-5627800
