I get the problem sometimes from a laptop.
I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly. I have in effect 2 keyboards on my laptop (Cyrillic and Roman) and have found the problem where if I'm editing a document with the other keyboard, it sometimes throws up interesting punctuation if the document didn't originally come from that computer (It's an old Macbook Pro running Openoffice as I'm too tight to pay however much for Microsoft products. Old = about 2011 as I have this set up how I want it and can't be bothered to spend another 2 years faffing around with a new one.)

I've never noticed it on any forum I may or may not be a member of, though. That includes others running the same software as MSE.

Interesting. It hasn't happened on either my home laptop or my work laptop.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I wonder if there are other factors. E.g.:

Does it happen on both the classic and new versions?
Does it happen on both the mobile and desktop versions?

It's a variable and inconsistent thing affecting different computers and tablet types.

    See this thread here.

A couple of extracts from that thread.......

This is exactly what is happening. This is not a client problem. It!!!8217;s a bug in the forum software.
Well it!!!8217;s definitely hit and miss. Like the poster above I!!!8217;ve noticed it come back when editing and I!!!8217;m still seeing the bug with quick reply on other parts of the forum even though my previous post in this thread worked.

Ah, that makes sense, sort of. I've not had any issues posting on my Android devices or laptop, so hadn't looked to see what had been posted elsewhere. It's bloomin annoying though trying to read interesting posts and work out what they say.
