I have one cooker with a double oven.
Years ago I had a range cooker, it was amazing and it meant the Christmas mince pies, party buffets etc were done in no time as I could get enormous quantities in and cooking at the same time.
Josh is having a wobble, the senior lecturer on his course who is also his personal tutor and someone Josh really respected and liked (and credits with helping him to get back on track and back at uni after his mental health issues last year), died suddenly yesterday.
He also got a result back from an assignment yesterday and such as his standards have changed, was disappointed with the result (previously he would have been over the moon with it - he's on for a 2.1 in that module), in his grief though, he misconstrued what the feedback was saying and thought it was saying about a lack of technical knowledge when in fact it was saying the complete opposite! By the time I got to speak to him, he had got himself in a right state.
Goodness! What a shock for him!No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Our main electric cooker has two ovens, and I have a microwave too.
Me too. Although the smaller top oven of the double stopped working some time ago. I had a bloke out to look at it, but having exhausted all the "easy fix" options, he said it would mean replacing the whole double oven. Well, I rarely used the top one, so I haven't bothered. It's still a very handy space to keep whichever shelves or trays I'm not using in the main oven, anyway.Josh is having a wobble, the senior lecturer on his course who is also his personal tutor and someone Josh really respected and liked (and credits with helping him to get back on track and back at uni after his mental health issues last year), died suddenly yesterday.

Hope you are able to help him regain his confidence.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
£460k doesn't buy you much does it ..... don't worry, it's not a posh alert.
I'd popped out and wasn't keen to return home, so when I saw a vergeside sign "show home open" I randomly decided to shuffle in .... well, then you're in too deep.
To be fair, I didn't like the house from the minute the door was opened.... and as I went round it I could see the bedrooms were smaller than ideal (and too many as it appeared to have 4, or 3 as they suggest that maybe Bed4 could be turned into a built in dressing room if you wish) ....
1200 sq feet .... a lot of that seemed to be a wide hallway upstairs.
So ... I won't be moving/buying that .... especially as there's no way I could come close to being able to afford it! All I was doing was trying to kill time as I couldn't think of where else to go while I was out that was "on my route" of being just 1 mile from home.
There were 3 for sale .... bit of an odd spot if you ask me .... if I had £460k and liked the house I'd not choose that spot.0 -
New builds are often overpriced. People also tend to overlook faults with new builds as they are dressed to impress.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. The house had been carpeted in the hallway/stairs - a lovely carpet - a long light grey plain carpet.... nice .... but it'd show every mark pretty soon - and, being smooth but with long/deep pile it'd soon start to show "tracks" where you walked etc.... which is why I like wood floors.
"Solid oak doors" he proudly told me "Shame they're rank looking" I thought. "Spanish ... something posh he said here ... porcelain tiles with underfloor heating" .... "shame they're a bit slippy for me and not throughout then" I thought.
Kitchen had some ghastly white/pale grey sparkly posh worktop ....
If I were spending that much I'd want to choose more of the finish.
And .... no utility room! Where do posh people hang their pants to dry? Or drop down their activities/hobbies stuff? Or kick off their wellies .... just "stuff of a utilitarian nature". No room for it.
Functionally, it had nothing more than this house did really.
EDIT: He forced a brochure on me, which I've just grabbed .... specialist designed kitchen with porcelanosa ceramic tiled floors .... quartz worktops .... spotlights ... built in stuff....
Bedrooms: 12'x9', 11'x9', 9'x7', 7'x6'
Living Room: 16'x14'
Kitchen 10'x8' + a dining area of 12'x'9'
I think it's really a 3-bed masquerading as 4.... just because "4s sell for more than 3s... even if we make them tiny"
For location: Round the back of a KFC, on the corner of a busy/main junction and big roundabout, with some niggling access issues. I bet you could shout your order to KFC and they could hand it over the fence.0 -

Posh people use tumble dryers. They don't hang their pants to dry for fear their posh friends drop by.
Activities or hobbies will be what the garden room has been bought for. Or bedrrom 4 that is too small to fit a bed.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Just think how much smaller they'd look if the furniture was standard size instead of show home size :rotfl:0 -

Posh people kick off their wellies in the boot room. Will you be putting one of those in the new extension? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
