If any NPs want to be my neighbour, there's one for rent, 2-bed mid £925/month.

Please form an orderly queue. :D:D:D

No more signs of the seagull, Pastures? I thought it might have imprinted onto you, and become a fixture!
    You could have been a seagull-mum! :D

Little did your neighbours know of the drama that they only just missed! Or did they see signs of plank marks on their lawn? :D

They arrived the next day for a one night visit and I told them "in case you see anything odd ...." as it could've been pecking random stuff... and so I explained.

No plank marks, no lawn. Previous owners removed the lawn entirely and laid down gravel - and the first time they walked on it they realised .... you can't walk on gravel, so they got a 2m x 1m piece of artificial grass laid down the next day. Garden's not much bigger than that so that's all they needed to get from the gate to the conservatory :)

Your version of 1st world ... I've not only never had an ice maker - and never expect to have one, but I've never seen one either. In fact, you're the only person "I know" that has one.

No doubt other NPs will confess to owning them too ... as there are a lot of posh 'uns here :)

I don't bother with making ice. I did pick up an ice mould from £land the other month because, for £1, you never know when you might want to make an ice cube, so it'd be daft not to buy one. But it's not been used yet. Even though I'm not keen on manual work, I think I can manage to hold it under the tap for 30 seconds while the sections fill with water from the tap :)

I'd worry about an icemaker and cleaning it ... and gunge accumulating.

Not only do I not have an ice maker, I haven't even got those ice cube trays in my freezer at the moment! :D

I just keep bottles of whatever I want chilled in the fridge.

Years ago, I bought these novelty ice cubes from Ikea. You tapped them hard on the table, then popped them in your drink. The tapping activated their fancy lights, so you had some pretty lights in your drink! Hahahahahahahhaa!

Once they wore out, that was it; you couldn't recharge them or anything, so they got thrown away.

    Under warranty?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Nope, more than 10 years old and bought from ebay as 'new - other, marked during installation' (not visibly to us) so rejected, with 6 month warranty (I think about 600 delivered). To be fair it has therefore probably done all that could be expected. Question is it worth trying to repair or getting a man to? we probably use half a £1 bag of ice a day if we were just to buy ice instead so that does not sound cost effective, it is probably about 4-8 ice trays worth a day but that is a faff. It is possible a new one would use a lot less leccy but might cost at least 1k

We've got an ice maker in our freezer. Never knew we needed one till we had it. Bloomin' convenient now and much appreciated now the weather's frying us alive.

I think I need to move.

You are still talking about hot weather cooking you alive and the loss of the ice maker.

It is still really cold here and certainly no use for an ice maker. Would love to have your 1st world problem in this bit of the UK.

My biggest question is, should I take my brolly with me when I put on my feather down coat to go to work?
Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.
