Pyxis If you're anything like me you'll doze off while she's doing your hair
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Trouble is, she applies the colour, then there's 20minutes wait while it 'takes' during which I make us a cup of tea and she chats.
Zzzzzzzzzzzz.
edit. I managed to stay awake, just, but there was a lot of yawning and brain-deadness.
I think the cup of tea at 'half-time' helped to wake me up.
Am in bed now, though. Being awake last night from 2:00 to nearly 4:00 didn't help, and has caught up with me now.
God knows why I'm telling you this!(I just lurve spiders!)

Eldest got his first pay in from his graduate job, let's just say he was most impressed. So impressed, he sent me some money to treat myself with, now I have just got to decide whether paying a bill constitutes treating myself, in my eyes it does as it reduces stress but I'm not sure he would agree! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Ooh no! Sue!
Not the bill!
You have to be able to tell him what you bought with the money, so it mustn't be a bill, not this time!
Think........there must be something you 'need' but which could be construed as a treat.
New knickers?
A book?
Potted herbs for the kitchen window sill?
Hand or face cream?
A hair cut?
A pot of hyacinths? Scented ones.
Or to hell with the 'need' and get a bunch of flowers from the supermarket!
And what a lovely thing for him to do!(I just lurve spiders!)

When I started working I bought my mum a coat, which is what she really needed at the time. She kept that coat for about twenty years, until it was really worn out.
I like to think in that hard winter, it did a little bit to keep her warm, then she had something to use after. Paying a bill will possibly do the first, but not the second. Is there something that you could choose that is similarly practical?
I was living at home when I started working, so the second, third, fourth etc, they could all be used for bills, but the first is special. If you can, that is.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

First wages, I bought my dad a cassette radio player. We still have it.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

Have no idea what I did with mine. First wages, that is.
I do know that my mum asked for a percentage of it to go towards board. Can't remember what it was, though.
I suppose it depends on how much.
Do you wear earrings? What about a new pair of earrings? Then you'd have something to keep! His 'First Wage Earrings!'
Or a pair of gloves?
Hat/scarf/gloves set?
Hahahahahaha! Or a tattoo! :rotfl:

Gloves! The kids take my gloves, and it’s quite chilly right now. And use the rest to pay off the bills. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

We agreed a fixed amount, but I also can't remember what it was.
A friend also gave his Mum "housekeeping money". She was adamant that she didn't want it and he was more adamant that she should have it. When he moved out she handed him a building society passbook in his name - she'd put ALL the supposed housekeeping money in the account to give him a starting nest egg for when he moved out.
He didn't know whether to be grateful or annoyed that she hadn't used it for what he'd intended.0 -
