DW and I were on the winning team for the Quiz Supper last night. We didn't win it ourselves. That was done by a team member who had been a semi-finalist on MasterMind. She wrote down all the answers whilst the rest of us chatted.
Sounds like you had a real struggle, there!
What was the prize?
If it was wine, I hope you let her have it! :rotfl:(I just lurve spiders!)

Oh Lydia, poor Aged P! I hope he's all right (not to mention the person he was helping.) It's so good that he has somewhere warm and safe to go home to.
My DD1 is a huge Dickens fan and shares the same birthday
Thanks ivyleaf. He seemed fine when I phoned him last night just as he was getting into the taxi to go home. He told me that his friend had already gone home a little earlier, and seemed fine too, and then concluded, sadly, that he's got to get used to the idea that his days of helping old people are over. I told him there are lots of ways to be helpful, and he can still do all the things that don't require the helper to be steady on their feet.PasturesNew wrote: »It's priceless. Yes, I agree - priceless. I don't understand the current fad for building overpriced "retirement" flats that don't include this kind of support, but it seems that most of the ones that are springing up all over the place are so limited as to be pretty useless in that respect.PasturesNew wrote: »That's lucky! Mine had a volunteer driver bring him home from the H... at the entrance you turn right to go home, but the car turned left... and drove for 20 miles to the wrong town/address.... and my Aged P said NOTHING! Just sat there wondering where they were going until the driver stopped and expected him to get out.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

We'll look out for you. Hope it gets fixed on time.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Morning Pastures! Mine's been throwing wobblies for ages, and occasionally it goes ape and I have to disconnect/reconnect the router. Last night it went ape but it was midnight and I couldn't be bothered. Still ape this morning, so have just done the unplug routine and it's back.
I'm sure it's the router and I will have to ring the ISP, but when it's working I think " Oh, not today!"(I just lurve spiders!)

Oo-er!
Ghost town again!
Reminds me of that cough 'song' from the ........60s? Was it? ...... 'Everyone's gone to the moon'.
Edit...... yup! The cough 'song' was sung by Jonathon King, but I've discovered there were a couple of other versions, one by Nina Simone, which might be better, so I'll check it out ..........
Goin' googlin'.........
Edit....... cripes! The Nina Simone was terrible! Shrieks and singing flat! Weird!
Another version by Chad and Jeremy was as banal and boring as the Jonathon King one.
Well, that was a waste of a couple of minutes of my life! Especially as it resurrected memories of the creepy J. King and his proclivities.(I just lurve spiders!)

I've nothing to say, I just want to assure Pyxis that I've not gone to the moon.
My Internet's been fine since yesterday - not a blip. No text yet telling me it's fixed and their deadline to fix it is at 5pm today. Maybe they just hold them in a batch in case they turn out to not be fixed.... sending out batch texts 10 minutes before the system defined deadline.
If I'd not been sitting here, watching the router (which is on the armchair arm so I can monitor it full-time) I'd have still been wandering about waiting for the mythical text!0
