Remember though .... it might not be a moment of rejoicing .... "better the devil you know" and all that. Could get somebody worse next!

I must admit, that was I thought when my horrible neighbour moved, but in my case it was one parent who was the bête noire; the children were lovely!

However, the new moving van came, but I didn't see who the new person(s) was/were.

However, after a couple of days of hearing absolutely nothing, I went round and introduced myself, and it was the nicest lady you could hope to meet! :)

And I haven't driven her away yet! :D

It's nice to see clever ideas that are not only cheap for us MSErs, but also enable the repurposing of junk,

It's wild out there. Outside in the garden about 5am in the pitch dark I saw something small/white just clear the garden gate, clipping it at the top - waiting for daylight so I can go outside, open the gate, then try to see what it was. It was small and lightweight - possibly, say, a disposable white cup, but it'd cleared the house and come over the roof to land in the garden area!

While the wind's in this direction I'm quite protected from the houses next door, so not getting too many sudden bangs and odd noises from outside to worry about.

Having said that, there are more rattles etc now, so I think the wind might have swung round a bit... just have to wait and see how it goes. One weather site says I have wind at 39 SW - which will be increasing to 43-44 in the coming 5 hours. Wind speed should be peaking 1-5pm.

EDIT: I had a piece of polystyrene packing material in the garden, so I guess what I saw earlier was a smaller piece of that; I looked outside the gate but if it was then that piece has already moved on!

    It's bl00dy windy out there!

I've been robbed! Some shop keeper has passed me an old pound coin in my change. B4st4rd.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I flew home this morning. It was pretty windy landing at Gatwick and I was worried that it could be diverted, but was better than expected. I once landed on a smaller A318 in a storm at Heathrow, which was like being on a yoyo. This was nowhere near as scary. Then train to St Albans, taxi home, and the minute we walked through the door the wind picked up outside. Timing....

Been blowing a hooly in Bwlchtocyn since early this morning. According to the forecast we should be over the worst of it by now, but I don't think so!

Roast chicken in the oven, a heartening meal for a carp day. :)

Be glad to get home to be honest - prob going on Monday, so OH can double check Duck tomorrow. Though I took a look on a local webcam earlier today and she looks fine so far. Right now she's grounded, but still looks OK.

In other news OH went down to the beach yesterday to find our rowing dinghy + launch trolley + oars has been stolen. :( We know she didn't go in Ophelia as the boat beside her (a small catamaran) was still there. Cops informed, but don't expect to get her back. :(
