My toothbrush came with an app.
Sadly, my dentist still requires me to be present. I’d prefer just to send the app along. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

But .... the main thing is that I can't see anything on the screen whatsoever outside in daylight, or anywhere "lit". Nothing. Can't tell who is calling/texting, or anything.
Get a bigger smart phone then. Loads around dirt cheap these days.{Signature removed by Forum Team}0 -
Don't the speech bubbles come up a different colour if it's an iMessage (blue instead of green)?
.
They do, but only after you have sent the message. If it's someone you haven't texted before on a smartphone, and so there is no bubble thread for them, you don't know if you are sending an iMessage or a text that might turn into an MMS.
It wouldn't be so bad if there was a runnng total of characters to warn you if you were about to exceed the free limit.
Sending a photo automatically whips you into paying mode.

Pyxis,
A) you can stop that happening. I don’t have my emails appear on my iPad by choice.straightforward texts over 160 characters get sent as 2 (or more) texts. It’s pictures you have to be careful with, as they go as iMessages or MMS. Even with iPhones you have to be careful as they occasionally go as MMS.
C) there must be a way via google or some other host.

Hi. Sorry I posted previous post before I had read yours.
So, if I just gaily type away and exceed 160 words, the message will be split up for me? Is that right?
As regards transferring my photos, I plan to go into a branch of JL, from where I bought the phone, and see if they can do it. It involves a fee, but will just be easier all round. Haven't done it yet due to being ill.(I just lurve spiders!)

Thanks for the link re GarageBand........I had gone into GarageBand but found it tricky to navigate, so I'll try again with those instructions.
I have already got the tune in my music library and have already trimmed it; just need to get it set as a ringtone.(I just lurve spiders!)

and who knew (flight again) that UK alcohol laws allow you to have champagne/fruit juice or water pre take off but not wine.
What a stupid system! I never knew that was the case. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

There was also that law that allowed you to buy kebabs, Indian and Chinese takeaway food, etc. on a Sunday, but not fish 'n' chips from a chippy.
I think it might still be law, but am not sure.
Years ago when they started to allow 24 hr opening for supermarkets, it was annoying that you could get your weekly groceries at 4 am, but you had to go back another time to get alcohol. The alcohol aisles were all cordoned off until whatever time they were allowed to sell it....10 am, I think.(I just lurve spiders!)

I seem to remember that you can place a bet on Sunday but not buy a bible. Though that may have changed since the intro of The Net Book Agreement. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? My iphone seems to know automatically if someone is on android and so it's always green.
My iphone family is blue unless their phone is switched off so then it will start blue and then turn green.
We have capped all additional expenditure over our monthly contract costs and so it will never send an MMS. I found it infuriating to be charged 50p for innocently sending a picture to an android user.
Best idea is to send picture messages via whatsapp if you don't know what they have.
I have never noticed my phone split long messages into 160 characters! I tend to type short and start a new message rather than a new paragraph, so maybe that's why?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
