PN, we all get confused.
I know everybody gets confused, but it's then whether your brain has the time/capacity to get past that point. Whether you're able to resolve it, query it and understand where you're at, then to be able to process that and work out if you're pee'd off, want to speak to somebody/complain, or what.
Without the processing ability, you hit a revolving door in your brain, the record gets stuck. For her sons, Sue is the finger nudging the record needle so it gets to the next bit.....
Without that finger intervention the record player is just stuck until it implodes.0 -

I'd rather it was out of the house
It'd still be up there and I'd become OCD about checking the app, petrified.... and, what if there were a problem? I'd struggle to get up into the loft, alone.... I hate lofts too
I bet moving it's not really that big a deal .... it'd be going out to the garage, which is almost adjacent to the kitchen, so it's not like all pipework would be re-routed to a part of the bungalow where no gas had existed before. Indeed, it probably enters the building round about there/ish.
House sounds exciting. Apart from the conservatory does it tick the other boxes, especially in terms, of location, defensible boundaries, garage you can actually put the car in etc?
What level of offer is normal in your area at the moment - as a cash buyer in rental you are probably worth your weight in gold so can be realistic in your offer - especially if it is a motivated seller.
I saw a property which I reckon you could add a second detached house on the plot but the planners might differ - problem is to afford it we would have to move which would be such hard work and I actually like this house - then again for a potential 300k profit on a ppr it might be worth the effort.I think....0 -
MacDonalds now have huge touch screens inside where you can order the food.
They've split the shop into 'order' and 'collect'.
You wait for the number on the receipt to pop up on the screen above the collection counter and they also shout it out as they approach the counter with the bag. I get a bit anxious as the long queue to order just seems to have been replaced by the queue to collect the bag!
I waited 15 minutes the first time. What takes 15 minutes in a Macdonalds?!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I often feel modern day-to-day life is getting more and more complicated even for NT people
The expectation that everyone has a smartphone doesn't help!0 -
Ooh that one annoys my mum. She does have a mobile but it is still an old style, non smart one and in her view it's just for her use to contact family etc and for them to contact her.
Their doctors surgery and now the hospital have taken to sending her messages and trying to ring her on it and it completely throws her, she doesn't want a text or a phone call, she wants a letter! A few days ago she was sent a text from the hospital for a patient portal where they could see upcoming appointments etc which she couldn't see the point of....and then moaned when they received a phone call about a short notice appointment and not knowing what it was for and having to wait for the letter which may or may not arrive before the appointment (and of course, they didn't question on the phone call!)
She couldn't quite see the irony....
Mind you, this is the woman who doesn't even possess a cashpoint card let alone a debit card but has an IPad where she quite happily searches for holidays, houses etc and Facetime her sister. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

I had an old phone. I bought a phone just to use for the camera.
I finally put the old phone number onto the camera phone in about August last year as I was trying to get round to things I'd meant to do but that'd seemed a bit tricky/hard.
Somebody texted me on the new phone .... and I have absolutely no idea who it is (but they must know me).... and I responded... and, since then, we've exchanged 3-4 texts. Trouble is, I've never had the b4lls to simply type "who are you?"0 -
Smartphones offer many possibilities, but they're not for everyone.
We're working on a joint venture at the moment that does rely heavily on technology (not in my main sector, but offers something that can be bolted on, it's more an opportunity that's arisen through chance), but still want to give the option to get the same materials on paper.
The sad thing is that we can't offer the same experience though, as things like location tracking (with a 'you are here' pointer) aren't available without a smartphone.
I can't release detailed numbers, but research suggests that of our 55+ target market, around 75% do have a smartphone device, however we do understand that web booking and being able to speak to someone generally offers peace of mind, so won't be going app only for this reason. It's just not prudent IMO to block off 25%+ of your target market and I do agree that too many companies are doing it now.💙💛 💔0 -
In my niavity I thought that PN would be happier using a smartphone to avoid having to interact with people directly in person. Maybe with familiarity that would be the case?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. It's certainly worked for my two Silvercar, from ordering food to getting a taxi, to getting train tickets, all done by App and without having to have human contact in the awkward initial ordering stage when questions you don't expect tend to be thrown at you.
It did take a bit of getting used to for them and they did resist initially but as you say, with familiarity, it has opened up so many avenues for them.We made it! I have (speaking on the) telephone anxiety so I really appreciate apps etc.
I'm anxious about the dentist too, and particularly hate our local dentist and have procrastinated going elsewhere for far too long, but I was able to book an appointment online with a new dentist this week and it's a huge relief. I cried with relief when I was there because she was so lovely.
I'm not worried about meeting people, just talking in the phone!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
