Do NPs drive up to their house, see it and think "you're lovely"?

Is it splendid, lovely, same as all the others, bit embarrassing, never tell anybody you live here?

Do you fancy your house a bit? Does it make you proud to say "I live here/this is my house", or do you feel you want different/better?

Pastures, if it's near the uni campus will there be lots of students living there, partying?

In answer to your question, when I drive up to my house I think it's so much better than those around it!

Personally I couldn't care less what other people think of my house. It's my home and I chose it.
It's definitely worth going to see a place if you are interested, if only to confirm it's not for you. I don't buy all this once you see it you will know. There are always compromises and only you can decide on what you are willing to compromise.

Here in London it's almost a rarity to find a road with no restrictions on parking. In fact I'm off to the library now to get forms to send in about planned changes to the parking round our "village".

Important to us as we've no off-road parking.

As regards the look of the house, our first one was so plain from the outside I almost wasn't going to look inside. The second I did, I fell in love with it. The location was incredibly convenient.

If you can't say anything nice........

We are honest, just nice too, so welcome (if you can remain nice here, of course).

Tricks... I've noticed a couple of agents have a little habit of having something on their books ..... and when it finally sells it reappears as "new today", but marked as "SOLD", giving the impression there's a rush and you're behind it...

Just now I loaded up RM and was surprised to see another 22 properties had appeared on RM with my search criteria in the last hour. "Ah, finally, this rush to market is appearing" I thought. But no .... ALL of them had been listed as Added Today, Town & Country auctions....

So I looked one up, one I knew would've been on my list. The auction date was August 2019.

To add insult to injury, the completion date is showing under Sold Prices on RM as having been in November 2019.

A most cretinous way of using the RM platform. Misguiding and misleading people....

Nobody missed it, nobody missed out.... they're trying to create an illusion of "you need to be quicker or you'll miss out"

The auction dates are showing on those 22 listings.... now I've looked closer. Some of the auctions were as early as April and June 2019. It looks like they've listed their last 22 sales from the previous 9 months (Apr to Dec 2019).

EDIT: And another one, maybe as he saw what the auction house had done.
On market April 2019, sold by end of August. Completion not showing in RM yet, but the agent has made a fresh entry, dated today and it's marked as SOLD. In reality, that was sold over 4 months ago, so I suspect he's done that as it just completed.

I hate to whine on ... but won't let that stop me :)

A contender that's having me pacing back/forth and mulling.

Something's just come up in my original preferred area. Although, like everything, it's not perfect. It's also top of budget.... last bought in 1999 the photos show a skip of OAP furniture/carpets in the driveway, it's probably not been touched in all those years (except the almost brand new disabled wet room).

Trouble is .... it's top of budget. Absolute top of budget.

And it'd need some level of work....

I'll give the agent a call in a bit (they should've phoned me as I'm registered with them at that budget in that area)..... but I'm thinking £285k is what it's worth to me.

It’s worth viewing, then making a cheeky offer. :)

I want to go somewhere, but there are only 2 car parks. Both use PayByPhone.

I don't use my phone so it's often dead + I can't actually see/read the screen outside, even in shade, so would have to climb into the closed boot of my car to use my phone to park.

But .... I'm wondering how on earth my phone can pay for parking. It has no money.

The world is becoming more mad. First you couldn't ever pull over or stop in any road (see where you are for example, or stop to stare out the window and get your proper bearings)...... and now you can't even park.

The other week I went to a car park and it was a pay by card. I didn't want to try that but I had a passenger, so had to give it a go. Others were standing round, saying it wasn't working... so I tried, it wasn't working, so we had to leave. Had to not shop in our "local area" because the car park machine wasn't working.

All some people want to do is drive into a car park, park, get some shiny coins from their pocket and pay..... and shop.

Unfortunately, all some other people want to do is try paying for parking with foreign coins, washers, etc. If that doesn’t work, and they happen to be chewing gum, some people reckon that if they cannot park neither should anyone else. Plus, if they happen to have a jemmy handy ....

Compare that with getting people to ring a number and quote their credit card details.
