I want "heavy" water, that feels like water.
Sold in bottles at your local supermarket.
If the property has a water softener there should be one tap left out of the circuit as you aren't meant to drink artificially softened water. Unless they have a filter on the softened water, but it would be unusual to have that set up in both properties.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Morning all!
Sorry to hear of your bad news Pastures, hope you find something soon.
Can I just give a recommendation to LOT Polish Airlines for a cheaper than staff fares flight, 3 of 4 on time (the 4th yesterday morning we were ready to go on time and Heathrow couldn't give us a slot until 45 minutes after scheduled arrival time, so not exactly their fault. There was at least chocolate and water handed out on the plane whilst sitting on the ground for just over an hour).
I've also slept in Warsaw airport (late arrival paired with early departure, I'm too tight to pay for a hotel for less than 5 hours of use) 3 times in the last 3 months and have to say it's a reasonably pleasant experience.💙💛 💔0 -

This one, I've no idea.... and not going to go poking about. Also can't ask as she's dim and with her being furren and me struggling to ask questions correctly, it'd all end in confusion if I tried to ask/explain
Our kitchen tap supply does not go through the softener but can feel light because it has an 'aerator' in the tap nozzle? DW and DKs also insit that the water doesn't taste right unless it has been run for about 5 minutes - I think they are just being extra.I think....0 -
PasturesNew wrote: »Houses to market. Very few. This year I've been keeping a daily tally. I felt it was "slow" late last year when about 68 were coming onto the market, it's been about 40/day this year, so "nothing".
A few/day to look into further, only to discover they're not right. e.g. one today £290k. Not really where I wanted, but was looking in case something that'd do did turn up; especially didn't want to be in this part of the area. 3-bed house (didn't want a house). Garage has been converted to the 3rd bedroom (so no garage any more). Positioned alongside a gap leading to 6 garages (didn't want to be alongside gaps/paths). Backing onto the recreation ground (didn't want to back onto any public grass/playing areas). So it's not just one tiny thing that's wrong... all of them have a variety of things on the "no thank you" list.
Hoping more turn up soon.
No GF flats to market today that got a click through, but for GF flats I've narrowed it down to 2 areas really, so there won't be many.
I did a RM yesterday and was surprise how few new listings there were - I thought the 'spring rush' used to start sometimes even before the new year, but this year no sign of it yet.I think....0 -
Morning. My accidental over-order of bananas just made it onto ITV's This Morning if anyone fancies watching back the first couple of minutes of the show. Mine is one of several, some were very funny!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

One I'm not interested in, but "so bored of having nothing to look at" that I'm studying it, is a dated 3 bedroom GF flat with a south facing patio.
£240k. But Council Tax Band D!
It'd need loads of work and is already at the ceiling for that block too....
Before you get out of bed that's £1800/year service charges/rent to cover and £1778/year council tax (before any discounts).
£300/month to live in your own flat.
I just don't see you as a flat person.
All the maintenance of the block is outside your control.
People will park in your allocated space.
You will be in close proximity to other people, who definitely will make noise. If you have a ground floor flat, you will hear the footsteps of the people above, unless it's extraordinarily well sound-insulated. Plus the noise of people entering the block.
I did wonder whether you could look at retirement properties, for people of a certain age? They are likely to be quieter. The properties are often cheaper, but you may have high service charges. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Aren't you then paying for wardens and communal lounges and guest bedrooms? Though I do know of a block of flats in the next town over that has a 55+ stipulation, but no added services. Maybe there are some gems out there.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Youngest passed his driving theory test today, small thing for most but for the one who ran screaming from the room when he did his SATs, a major success.
It helped that eldest works in the same building, so he felt supported even though eldest was working prior to him going in and they didn't meet up. Luckily and without arrangement, youngest came out of the building and eldest was on a break and outside getting some fresh air.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

We habe two types across our town. The latest developers have certainly cottoned onto the idea of many additional services for ££, but the older developments are half the price to buy as well.
I do agree with GBD. Buying a regular flat has the risk of jumping from the frying pan into fire.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

That would be much better for most I think.
I am still in contact with someone who used to teach me (and who I taught with for 2 years) who lives in an over 55s development with around £280 a month of service charges (I know this as I've seen the advert). He wants to move to France to be closer to family and is finding it very difficult to sell.
I'm not a flat person for the reasons mentioned, and agree that Pastures will probably struggle with both flats and 55+ properties.💙💛 💔0
