It's rained a lot.
Few properties are coming onto the market; 75% of new arrivals are flats.
Nobody's selling what I want
Took a long/slow drive out to an area I've dismissed, "just to see" - and it is the sort of area I don't want. It's the student area, bit grubby, crime rates higher than other areas etc. So I can now say "I know not to go there" as I've inspected the area for myself, whereas before it was "doesn't look good on paper".
Rain today... not planning on going out at all, but I have little food, so hunger might force me out.
I've been erecting our succah, which has been a bit of a job, as it needed some refurbishment. It seems totally pointless, as I refuse to go in it if it's raining, and it's forecast to rain for the whole week.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Yes, we had a nice lady come and trim our (laurel) bush on Saturday. She hadn't done a succah for a couple of years so there was plenty to trim off....I think....0 -
It seems a bit daft to have a quiet hour on a Saturday, which must be a busy day. Surely mid week would work better?

I've been laid low with a chest infection and an asthma flare...still managed to keep my 100% work record though albeit with some difficulty but I was absolutely determined I was going to hit the two year mark there with my zero sick days record intact (plus of course, if I don't go to work, I don't get paid).
I've also been doing battle with my mobile phone company, I paid my bill on Tuesday but the payment went missing and wasn't allocated to my account. Several days, online and phone chats and many many hours later it has been found. To compensate me (I didn't request it, I was too busy being over the moon relieved that the payment had been found and wanting to give them virtual hugs), I have been given a £70 credit off future bills. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Something wrong with driving and gardening and building a succah on the sabbath. I’ve never met anyone religious enough to build a succah who doesn’t keep sabbath laws.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. My thoughts exactly. 9am Saturday morning must be a peak "rushing out to do the shopping/get the shopping before going out etc".
It's just a PR stunt by Mr T. All noise, no actual action.0 -

There is a slim chance I've found "the one that'll have to do".
It's come onto the market today.
2 beds, bungalow, ~575 sq feet. My guesstimate is it's about 32' wide and 18' deep.
Odd/corner/triangular plot. No garage, likely not room ever for one. ORP frontage 1-2 that's passable.
Bed 1 has en-suite. Bed 2 is not particularly a good size (9' 8" x 8' 7")
Modernish, tidy/clean. £270k.
Awaiting agent call back re a viewing. Agent was making those agenty noises and saying ".... better view this quick, B.P. is a very popular area and they sell fast". No pressure there then!
*sighs*.
On paper it's probably the 2nd closest/best fit in budget since I started looking 14 months ago.
EDIT: Agent phoned back, he can't get hold of her, so might be able to sort out a viewing for tomorrow.
I know where the house/road is, so I'll do a drive by today. It is quite close to the main bypass/dual carriageway, one of the main artery roads ... so it'd most likely have a constant rumble, but there's no junction at this point; the junction's 1 mile away.0
