Pastures How about a PO Box address? Brain not working well tonight so can't post a link, sorry, but it was a site called UKPostbox. I googled "How to get a PO Box in the UK". It's suggested that it's ideal if you're moving between addresses etc. HTH.

Thursday: Probably panic mode. Try to switch brain to "where are you going to sleep then?" mode.

Blow up mattress? Or move out on the Thursday.

Congratulations on your news Silvercar, I think we are still a way off eldest and his partner doing the same.

Talking about eldest, he has received news that as from the beginning of next month, his department will no longer exist (it's being outsourced) and as such, neither will their jobs. He has not taken the news well....
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Been there - got so many T shirts I could open a shop.

Best job I ever had did that. Major takeover and they shut the Dept as they wanted Head Office to do all the work centrally.

At the age I was then, that was pretty much my "peak years" and I never recovered position.... it's easier when you're younger to walk into something new.... but when it keeps happening, one day you find you're "considered too old" and they choose younger people.

It's the whole "cost of starting again... yet again" that drags you down. If it happens every year and you lose a month's salary between jobs that's the year written off for disposable income. Bl00dy nuisance it is.

It's happened to me twice too, something that came as a surprise to eldest. Once was in a job I loved and had been there for almost two years, the other I had been there 6 weeks (pre Christmas rush which hadn't continued).

The job I loved I got a very decent payoff (equivalent to 6 months pay) and walked straight into another one at higher pay (the one and only time I was head hunted, they heard my role was being made redundant, contacted me and were willing to wait out the consultancy and notice phase). The 6 weeker, they gave me one month's pay in settlement and I had another job within 48 hours.

"Fridge freezer paid for and removed. Whew."

I'm not as hardy as you. I'd worry my food would go nasty.

An original song from middle son. None of the music you can hear was done with instruments, he used normal household items (e.g a tap running or a door closing) or everyday sounds (e.g a crunching crisp packet) and the cheapest and most non professional DAW programme. This was to prove that making music was possible without expensive equipment or programmes and thus accessible to all financial backgrounds.

My eldest hasn’t even got a partner! Well and truly lapped by his little brother.

Sorry to hear about the job news; could he apply to the outsourcing company.
