All you're doing is giving examples of incapable idiots that aren't fit to leave home alone. The great majority of travellers are more than able to cope with a short flight with absolutely no fuss.

No, all I did was repeat others experience. You dont need a majority..........it only takes a minority.

I think (although that might be an incorrect interpretation) that the problem arose because you have to show your boardingpass when you enter the aircraft (at least it used to be like that with Ryanair). So if have BP's on a single phone you have to enter together.

They are indeed hens but keep in mind they might also be mums who have children at home who might learn form their mum behavior.

Could it be right that only one of them have a smart phone, is it a wind up ??

Nowadays even a small kid has a smart phone, so each of them must have a smart phone with them. You even only need two one for the front door and one for the back if you want to use this argument to justify boarding together from the front door.

Keep in mind as they are friends most of them might be in their 30s.
If mums are behaving like this what about their children ?? But thankfully sometimes we see teenagers are behaving more appropriate than their own mums.

You know your seat numbers before you board so why would you wait to do this until one of you is at the back of the plane and the other is at the front?
Well we didn't, we prepared when we were 10 rows apart. Clearly other people aren't as efficient from what we saw...
Mind you, having seen a party of people board - who have been in possession of boarding passes showing their seat numbers for several hours - stand blocking the aisle whilst they discuss who is going to have which seat, I can believe anything.
Well exactly. The last minute, "ooh hang on, I want my book and it's in my husband's bag" etc...

Like I said it is causing delays, and if their turnaround times start getting affected it'll likely cost them more than the few £ gained from people paying for seats who didn't previously.

Yes but chances are one of them did the booking and has all the passes, and never thought to share them out. People don't always act efficiently or logically particularly if they're on a hen/stag do!

So check in 24 hours before departure and sit where you like for free.

    A bit of a non-story.

It's not just about having a smartphone, by the time you realize that you and your travel partner are supposed to enter opposite ends of the plane I suspect a lot of people won't have the time to generate another boarding pass on their phone. I doubt this is a problem that would occur very often, some of the other downsides mentioned are more significant.

Well it's clear to most that the system is active and not random in its selection. The many reviews on TP would confirm that. What would you call it?
    :wall:
Have I ever said that the seat selection is random?
    Thought not.

The point is I don't give a toss if I'm separated from my travelling partner.

You brought up this rather silly and irrelevant analogy.

You seem to think you are playing Top Trumps.

Its not about you caring if you are sitting apart.....we care if we are affected by the system as a consequence that others are. We have moved on from the obvious a while back. The point is WE care!!
You brought up this rather silly and irrelevant analogy.

Nope it was spot on and I am rather proud of it...........please dont use it as your own. Without giving me full credit.

It is surprising how people argue against seat allocation fee for Budget Airlines just because this group of hens bimbos bring this to surface.

Moreover this is a money saving expert forum where members are expected to have a good knowledge or at least to be aware of the budget airlines charges as part of their business model. But at the same times many people who knows how to play are taking advantage of cheap flight such as getting a one way flight in a European city for £10.

Are people aware of that Ryan air is not the only airline which charge passenger for choosing the seats. There are many budget airlines around the world including the US are charging the fee as part of their business model. It is always be the case as part of their business model to charge you for everything, but at the same time you will always have an option to opt out or to pay.

Just did a quick search for instance :
    http://www.airfarewatchdog.com/blog/4564745/chart-what-it-costs-to-select-your-seat-location.html#

You could also see the the major airlines has started to follow charging
    http://lmgtfy.com/?q=seat+allocation+charges+by+airlines+uk

Do people realize here it is not your business to dictate how the airlines are running their business how they pick up their own business model.

It is what Michael O Larry was saying. You hate Ryan Air do not fly Ryan Air there are millions of passengers still want to fly Ryan Air.

Mind you there are many people out there have been saying never fly Ryan Air yet they keep coming back after they find out the cost of other alternative with other airlines.

I don't think a single person has argued against seat selection fees in this thread. Some people are arguing against the policy of deliberately splitting up passengers who don't pay them which is hardly the same. But nice strawman :)
