It's laughable that anyone is willing to be treated like this. There's one born every minute, I guess.

What if staff were employed on trains to ensure that boarding passengers are forcibly split up until they pay £3 extra to sit together? You'd be happy with that too?!

Or would you start bawling and demand something for nothing?
This is purely based on my own opinion here.
It's not a case of "laughable that anyone is willing to be treated like this"
I really don't care if I'm separated from my partner for a few short hours during a flight.
We'll be spending 2 or 3 weeks together 24 x 7 so to me, it's no big deal.

If other people do have a problem, that's up to them to do something about it.
    Some options are:
pay up, cause trouble in the cabin or choose not to fly with Ryanair.
Or even bleat about it on social media.

    Ryanair works for me.

MOL won't get my money to pay to sit together because I really don't care if I'm separated from my partner for a few short hours during a flight.
There appears to be quite a lot of people who want something but don't want to pay for it born every minute, I guess.

As far as trains go, I rarely travel on them but the same applies:
I really don't care if I'm separated from my partner for a few short hours during a journey.

It's not a case of being happy or not being happy, it really wouldn't matter to me.

I guess you must have missed this:

I don't support it at all.
I just don't give a toss whether I sit with my partner on a short-haul flight or not.
We don't even sit on the same seat on the local bus
    .
    :rotfl:

FTR, I have never demanded anything for nothing,
If something was important to me and it involved paying a fee, I would pay.
Unlike Ms Vickers and her travelling companions.

It's along the same lines of an airline coming up with such a story that nothing has changed on the policy with regard to seating. It's so sad.

    Agree, both are sad.

Perhaps you need a reminder that this is a money saving website
Why would someone want to pay for something that they don't deem necessary.

Because last years profits were based on a previous policy of sensible seat placing.
Let's see what profits look like next year after this bad publicity sh!tstorm.
It's not the publicity that'll hurt them, they're well used to that, it's if their turnaround times start getting affected. People are taking ages to get seated because there's loads of bartering of seats plus split up couples needing to get stuff our of their partner's bag at the other end of the plane etc...

Splitting up a hen party would encourage me to fly with them.

Done that on Ryanair about 10 years ago. Or at least I thought so when I booked - the fare was advertised at "free", but in the end the cheeky gets charged me 1p each way
