Once again you imply independent nations are mere victims to be taken for a ride by corporations, but there is no meaningful evidence of this from other advanced independent nations.

No, I'm saying the Tory plan (oft mentioned by them) is to try and compensate for Brexit by making the UK more attractive to companies.

I looked on the Deloitte website - couldn't find mention of this, but a few thoughts:
Were those surveyed asked before May's "we want you to stay" statement since that was only a few days ago?
A survey of how may?
Plus read the comments, there are some corkers but a few sensible too including (as said in there) that the reason these people are here in the first place is because it is better for them here than where they came from.

I don't get how there can possibly be any serious discussion with industry or anyone else regarding how anything relating to migrants will work until (or if?) agreement is reached with the EU.

Like Eire for example? Either you want large Corporations to base themselves here or you don't. Companies employ people. Corporation tax is only a single small part of what an organisation pays in tax in total.

And as per article, the highest skilled are most likely to go first. Makes sense as these people are highly mobile with skills in demand all over the world (except in little england obviously).

According to the survey, highly-skilled workers from EU countries are the most likely to consider leaving with 47 per cent thinking about upping sticks in the next five years.

Oh well. More room for tourists.
