    Spent £3.04 today.
Celery and an orange for me.
OH bought bread and TTD beef burgers that he found reduced for himself.

Yes I am aware we have less than £15 left for the month now. Should be fine. OH will be away for a few days next week and I have meals in the freezer that I'll defrost and microwave, also no OH to buy food for for those days, lol.

    £140.01/£155.
    £14.99 left.

Mmm. Just tried a new recipe for a change. The Eat Well for Less Donor Kebab. Edible but just like the takeaway version, all you can taste is the raw onion and chilli sauce.

That said, nearly all demolished and the LO will go in a roll for DH for lunch tomorrow.

I did my shopping for the next week today. I was originally planning to go to a local fruit & veg stall and then visit the farmer's market, but the weather was lousy, so I gave the market a miss.

The fruit&veg stall is a very recent find for me, and it is well worth the detour. I got mushrooms, carrots, cucumber, spring onions, loads of tomatoes, nectarines, bananas, clementines, cherries, plums, blackberries, grapes and potatoes, all for £13.40. The quality is far superior to the supermarket too.

Instead of going to the farmer's market, i just popped into Tesco. I spent a total of £25.19 there, which has put me over my monthly budget by £1 and some change! I 'm strangely annoyed to have bust my small budget, but there were a few bargains which were just too good to miss, including ys chicken thighs which are perfect for my favourite chicken curry, a ys mint plant and a ys parsley plant. I also got a couple of bargain organic butters.

Most of the stuff I bought at Tesco was stuff I will use in August rather than July, so I feel as if my shop today is setting me up well for next month.

So, no more shopping for me in July (or at least until my new GC begins on 26/07), so I'm unlikely to post again here. See you all over on the August GC thread!

Only variable here is that I'm away next weekend, so I'm letting Mr E do the weekly shop. It'll be interesting to see what it comes in at. If we go over budget, I'm blaming him!

Hehe, I like your thinking! :D

Well, I was somewhat optimistic about having around £20 left at the end of this month's challenge as Friday saw a spend of £15.08 at the market and local Co-op (but I did remember to use 2 mocs worth 50p :) ) AND there is still £7.98 left in the budget with just 4 more days to go and nothing needed. I'm not even going to mooch for any ys items either so there will be a little to roll over into the holiday pot after all. :):):)

Made some Spaghetti Bolognese today form stuff I already had in, it smells fantastic if I do say so myself. No spends today, although I do need to get up to Lidl to use up those vouchers I have.

So here's the thing. I mostly come in on budget (£80 per month), it's taken a lot of years to get to that, it used to be more than that a week, but I secretly always wanted to be able to do £40 for the month (just one month would do me, seriously), as it would challenge me and force me to use up the c**p that has been lingering for far too long. The nearest I got to it was £60 something a few months ago. Well, there's a week to go, £4.74 left to bring spends to £40, so I might just go for it. Today I have been batch cooking and really don't need anything but plant milk, but I might make some oat milk instead. Have a lovely rest of w/e everybody. #TalkAboutTakeItToExtremes #ItChallengesMyBrain #ThisStuffIsAddictive #AskJackMonroe
