All you need to know/do is provided in the NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #2, which takes through all the stages from the receipt of the LBC to the actual hearing. Read it thoroughly and keep it bookmarked as you will need to reference it quite often over the next few months.

If you read it well, you will be ready for each new piece of the action as it progresses, each ‘piece’ you will need to deal with in very timely fashion, as per a dictated timetable.

I'll have a look at that now. Thanks.

And we mean READ. No skimming.
First step is acknowledging the claim. This gives you the full 33 days.

    Who is the claimant?

    Who is the claimant?

MIL Collections Ltd. In particular, Alan Davis.

Am I best acknowledging the claim immediately via the Moneyclaim website or waiting to the 14th day?

    Waiting has no advantage!

Do it now (5 min job) then move on to preparing your defence

They sound like a right shower. Gives me hope that they won't win this one.

On the Prankster’s blog site (helpfully linked by beamerguy) you will find numerous blogs about how MIL have been comprehensively beaten at court, or how they pull out where a strong defence has been put together.

All of these are essential background reading for you so you get some knowledge of things like Assignment of Debt and Champerty and Maintenance.

    Is the PPC CPMS?
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

We had a MIL claim post only last month - search the forum for 'MIL defence' and read 2017 examples.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
