I just mean the name alone is not really an indication of whether the site is genuine or not. You might as well ask what has the amazon got to do with books.
But don't worry, like the band said: I Won't Get Fooled Again : )

Where do you work that has all employees wearing no shoes?

    A Buddhist monastery.
I went into Office to buy some paper clips and was very disappointed. I was also appalled to find that Selfridges don't sell fridges.

Well Office doesn't sell anything office related, so all this quibbling over the name of the site is just silly and petty.
But Office do provide phone numbers, contact address etc.
The name of a company on its own isn't proof of anything but a name that doesn't bear any relation to what it sells along with the lack of other details is a good indication of a scam site so in some instances, using the name of a site isn't "just silly"

I came here because I did something foolish and made a purchase through a bogus site. I wanted to find out if anyone in a similar situation had managed to get their money back and if so then how. I also want to share my experience of reporting it and whether I manage to get a refund. It could be useful to other victims. What is not useful is to be repeatedly told I should have known better. I get that. Let it go and only offer useful comments in future please. I've probably lost £72 quid through my ignorance. I don't need to be told repeatedly that you are smarter than that. Is that why you are here. To be 'holier than thou' to fraud victims?

If you don't get your goods or you get something that is counterfeit then there is a reasonable chance that your bank will be able to reclaim the money through a chargeback so you may well get your money back.

Thanks Shaun. I wonder though if the Chinese fraudsters cover themselves by sending out the cheap no brand version of the item. This seems to be their modus operandi. Maybe so they can claim an error and buy more time. I don't know but I'll let you know how it goes with the banks dispute team when I hear from them.
