Good Morning
What a world we live in now.It is madness.
This ridiculous panic buying/bulk buying is out of control.
When it all started I was doing my normal weekly shop and had people think I was panic buying. The perils of a large family
We are currently self isolating as of Monday just gone. Feisty preschooler coughed in school and sealed our fate. She just has a cold though but I guess we all have to do our bit with precautions. DH and I are working from home....or should I say DH is. I'm getting up at 5 am to work...then homeschooling the kids...then back to my work in the evening 😩 it's tiring me out. I have more flexibility than DH to do that.
On a plus, I'm a key worker, so kids should be able to go back to school after these 14 days are done. They need that structure in their day.
Still in a position to pay down debt in the usual manner for now.

I don't know how you're doing that. I'm very impressed. Plus breastfeeding twins to 20 months! You are amazing. I couldn't last that long. I found minbie teats helped get mine off but they were 15 months. Not sure it would work with 20 month olds.
Amazing strides with your debt. And let's hope they give us more information to know what's going on. Which schools will stay open and who is working. You're doing amazing xxxLoan 1 £5200/£8000

That's impressive both the homeschooling and the pay down this month. I think some people are judgemental about people's shopping habits whatever they are at the moment!2

Good morning.
Oh dear this is becoming a bit of a monthly update.
Well, what can I say? Things are all a bit weird.
Dh has been furloughed. He's worried he could still be made redundant as his 6 months probation ended last week and obviously not in a position to be offered a full time. Hopefully it won't come to that because I don't want to even think about what that could mean 😐
With him being off we made the decision not to send the older two to school as the twins couldn't exactly go anywhere anyway.
Homeschooling is horrific. Ds keeps pushing against it and feisty preschooler can't get enough. The twins prevent any meaningful work being done.
I'm working full time still. So usually when I get home in the evening I have to do a little with both of them without the twins demanding to have a go!
This whole lockdown situation has meant I've been able to finally wallpaper the kids bedrooms and sort the garden out. I realised how much I'd put off for a day out with the kids.
For the time being we're continuing as normal with debt payments.

What brilliant news! One less creditor and one less payment to make monthly in case you need to be more flexible going forward.
Not that I usually recommend this but clearly extenuating circumstances apply most credit card and loan companies are offering 3 month breaks you apply for online. All the interest still accrues so it isn't ideal but definitely something to consider.
Both of mine are totally against home learning too. And tactics that can work aren't the same for both. Mine are having to go into school so can't be bothered when they come out of school.
Keep going. You're doing fantastic! XxxLoan 1 £5200/£8000

I'm going to avoid any payment holidays for the moment. Our credit cards are interest free currently... And we can afford to pay them. Plus we over pay massively. So if things got worse we could drop to minimum payment. I don't really want to go for a break on the loans either.
I'm so close to the end, less than 12 months, I can't bring myself to delay it. 😣

You are doing so well. I do hope this situation does not affect your finances too. My daughter and son in law are having to work from home at the moment whilst also looking after two pre schoolers so goodness knows how you are doing it. Very frustrated we can't help as we live just a few minutes away and have lots of spare time. They are working all the hours they can early mornings, lunch time when the children are having quiet time and evenings and weekends by tag teaming. Very difficult with pre schoolers and no understanding as to how difficult it is to WFH and look after younger kids.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. OK, what month even is it? Everything is still so weird isn't it? Nothing has changed here. I'm still working full time nd DH is still furlouged, although they made him use a week's holiday which I wasn't pleased about. We can manage on DH being 80%. That leave could've been used in the future to cover school holidays as we don't like using my mum during those times. All the kids all the time is full on. It seems that the Company are entitled to do this so not much we can say.
DH also hasn't heard from his work about whether they are looking to go back to work. If he's asked to go back it will leave us with no childcare as my mum is still not allowed to have the kids by govt guidelines ... I must add she is only 56 and not classed as elderly.
In other news the twins are 2 next monththinking of getting them balance bikes. Unsure at the moment.
