Wow. Almost £1200 paid off the debt is brilliant. You are going to  have so much spare money when its gone although I seem to recall you want to move in the next few years to a bigger house? Incredible focus.  My GD2 was 2 in April and has temper  tantrums galore so coping with 2 must be hard going as well as your other 2 children. Kudos to you.

    Thanks

The goal is a bigger house ☺️ Be interesting to see how the markets are from next year onwards.

The tantrums are creeping in slowly. One twin more than the other. I pray it doesn't get worse!! The preschooler was a tornado of tantrums at 2 and anything less than that would be amazing 😂

  • Wow, the debt is really shrinking.
The childcare is a pain at the moment, I have 5 children although only the youngest three now need childcare.  I've been able to use key worker school and flex my hours to fit.  If I'd had younger children, I wouldn't have been able to work I don't think.  Hopefully the rules will relax soon.
Tantrums... my youngest is 4 (nearly 5) and he's still prone to the odd one.  Saying that, so is my 16 year old  :D

    Usual monthly update!

DH still on furlough. Still unsure what's happening,  think there was talk of returning part time until work picked up.

We've been thinking alot about moving. I've been looking at houses on rightmove and seeing loads of properties I like.  DH and I have chatted about it and feel like we'll put our house on the market in the next few months. Mainly in hopes we can do everything before stamp duty kicks back in. We also accept it may take months to sell. Now we're going to get the house in a sellable state.

In other news the twins are 2!! What a whirlwind the last 2 yrs have been.

Thanks for cheering my along everyone.

Been doing lots of sums these last couple of days in hopes of putting more towards the debt and getting rid sooner.

I made a claim though the hmrc in relation to a work subscription I order to claim tax back. I'm so annoyed with myself. I've had this subscription for 13 years and only claimed this year. I can only go back 4 years 😫 other than a request from the hmrc to provide further details on the last financial year I've had a successful claim on the previous 3 years.
Therefore,  job for today is to try and put that cheque in. £156 of extra money 🤑

I'll put £56 toward the HSBC card and keep the £100 for summer spends with the kids. I've got 2 weeks off coming up, originally for childcare reasons but it's possible DH will still be off. If so, some of that time will be spent sorting the house... There's going to be a lot of painting!

I've also recently done some overtime. 12 hours at time and a half and 2 at time and a third. I've no idea how much extra this will be bring me but a huge chuck of it will, be thrown at the debt.

I've seen a house I love. It's huge, has 4 double bedrooms, 1 lounge and 2 reception rooms, a large kitchen, downstairs loo, cellar, en suite and family bathroom, enormous garden and off street, secure parking. Main down side is no front garden and on a busy room... But honestly that's not even bothering me. It's empty! Needs decorating... Which seems like the main thing. The price is ridiculously low, making us suspicious. But we'll definitely have a look. I'm worried that if the decorating is the only issue and I fall in love we'll never get it as we need to sell ours quick. No houses seem to be selling though 😔😔

Anyway, enough of my ramblings. Need to write lists of things we need to do to the house to sell!

Hope you’re house seeks quickly MB. Do make sure when you are ‘doing things to sell’ they really are things that are going to add value or are really needed and not just for aesthetics reasons, if you’ve furniture in when people are looking around you’d be surprised how much gets over looked!
