Yesterday was payday and so Loan payments were made.

Took the children to the big shopping centre near us yesterday for new shoes. Had the money already set aside plus a £70 voucher for the centre. Went to Cl4rks as I thought by getting there super early on a Thursday morning it would mean it wouldn't be too busy. Turns out a lot of parents had the same thought  I was committed though as I figured there wasn't ever going to be a quiet time. The lad serving us was amazing and so patient even when DS had a little strop. DSs feet measured initially at size 3  He's 7 1/2!! The design he wanted stopped at 2 1/2 and he got so upset.. Thankfully the size 3 fitted too big so he got the style he wanted in the 2 1/2. Had to explain to him on the way home that this is the last year for the 'kid' designs as his feet keep on growing! My nephew at 12 has size 9 feet  so I expect DS to have big feet.

Tornado toddler chose her new school shoes too. My biggest gripe is that girls shoes don't seem to be as hard wearing as the boys. Of course tornado toddler is such a girly girl she had to have the bow and gems so no chance of getting her boys shoes :o

Then it was on to the twins. Their first shoes. Twin 1 got some little cruisers as she's not fully walking yet and Twin 2 got some proper little shoes. Turns out twin 2 is a whole shoe size bigger than twin 1 so no shoe sharing going on. I'm currently sat typing this with twin 2 on my lap in nothing but her nappy and her new shoes. She LOVES shoes :rotfl:

Anyway I went to pay for all the shoes and with a 10% discount because I have twins (TAMBA discoint) it came to £126. Tried to use the voucher and it was declined  so just paid from my account, thankfully I had the money for them anyway. Went to the customer service kiosk to find the gift card expired last month :o Ooops. Luckily I was able to reactivate it for a £10 fee  of course I did it as £60 was better than £0.

Decided to treat us all to some ice cream. Reminded the eldest 2 to be extra careful with their ice cream as we walked back to the car park. Only for me to take one lick of mine and it fell to the floor :rotfl: I took it as a sign.

All things considered it was less stressful than I'd anticipated.

Today is expected to be an epic washout with rain so we'll have another indoors (free) day. Will start the laborious process of the bedroom swap.

Was also thinking about how things were a year ago. DH had lost his job and was struggling to get another. Things have certainly improved a great deal from then.

Awesome to get into the teens especially with 4 Little ones. Well done on staying so focused.

MB - I get stressed enough doing Clark’s with one toddler, let alone 4 little ones. You must be wonder woman and have the patience of a saint!!!

Well done on the debt busting - you’re doing amazingly well x
  • Mummybear you are inspirational! I’ve spent the last few evenings reading your diary from the beginning (even found myself commenting at the beginning under my old username!).

    Your children sound amazing xx
  • Thanks so much everyone for your encouraging words. It's nice when people drop by and take the time :o

It's definitely what I needed after a bit of a disastrous morning. Did my weekly shop and meal plan etc. Get home to find that I hadn't closed the small freezer door last night properly :mad::mad: I had all my meats in there. So this week will be veggie alternatives!

The much anticipated bedroom swap is well under way now. Gonna take ALL day and probably tomorrow and every evening next week!

Just popping in with no real updates really.

Second week back at work after 3 weeks leave. DH is currently holding up the fort. I must admit it is funny getting home in the evening and seeing DH look worse for wear hahaha. Think there's a new appreciation of what I've done the last year!

We've now done the kids room swap. The main outstanding is the decoration. I've found we've got a ridiculous amount of girls clothes. Everything tornado toddler (should really start calling her my fiesty preschooler) grows out of is stored away for the twins. But it's finding the room for it all!

Managed a tip run over the bank holiday, love a good tip run.

On the countdown to September and breaking through another thousand barrier.

  • How funny with your DH, mine looks the same when I work a Saturday and he's home all day with our 2 :rotfl: Well done on completing the room swap. It's hard storing the older children's things for the younger ones isn't it? Mind you, I'm enjoying the thrill of shipping out anything DS2 outgrows. The second it anything looks too small it's straight in to 1 of 3 bags - pass on to a friend or sell/charity shop/bin, I've been ruthless ;)
Not long until Septmeber and that next thousand bracket x
