    Good morning diary world,

First Monday of the kids school holidays today. Typical it's raining! I'm on annual leave now for 3 weeks. Had to start it early last week as tornado toddler woke up Thursday saying she felt sick and then vomited all over me. Grim. She was very upset she couldn't go in for her last day of school. She's better now thankfully but Twin 2 has been sick this morning. Not sure if it's a bug or a coughing fit gone wrong yet.. She seems happy enough, but babies are quite resilient when poorly and can handle it better than adults.

Speaking of twin 2, she is now walking :T twin 1 is very much only interested in cruising along furniture and climbing. I'm glad they're doing things at different rates. The thought of chasing both of them as they come to grips with walking at the same time doesn't sound fun.

We still need to fit the new garden fencing. Every weekend since we've bought the panels we've had prearranged plans away from the house or its rained very heavily. Part of the issue is DH works most Saturdays. It will get done, even if we do it a little at a time.

The other big summer job is the kids room swap. Need to order DSs new bed this week too. Seen a good deal that I can get cashback on via TCB. Again it'll be about finding time to do the room swap and build up the bed, which is a high rise bed.

On to my monthly targets.I've continued with doing surveys etc. Just cashed out £22.71 from paypal which will go into my annual bills account. Being doing the odd Qme3 survey too and just cashed out £2 which has come off the mbna #everylittlehelps . Also getting back into doing 1 poll to get to that £40 after I dropped off the enthusiasm wagon.:o

Was at kids birthday party yesterday and someone suggested I try using V1nted to sell clothes on instead of 3bay. Think I'll give a go, would welcome anyone else's experience.

Turns out twin 2 did have a bug :( wasn't a nice sight at my parents when she vommed all over their carpet. Ooops. She seems absolutely fine today. Hoping twin 1 doesn't catch it now. They've got their vaccinations next week, which is already late as I had to rearrange the last appointment., so could do with them being the best of health.

Did a couple of Qme3 surveys to get another £1 off the mbna and hit my monthly survey target.

Wow what a start to August I've had.It began well, DH took a couple of days off and on Friday we went to a National Trust beach on what turned out to be a glorious day. It was brilliant.spent £0. Took our own picnic and owe have NT membership so parking was free.

However, on the Saturday I started getting horrid cramps.Vice like grips inside.By the evening I had the eorst D&V I've ever experienced, I was up all night.thankful the twins slept almost all the way through. Sunday I spent in bed or in the bathroom.OMG at one point I contemplated going to hospital. I'm coming out the other side now. Still not 100 % and my tummy feels so bruised. I can only assume it's what tornado toddler and twin 2 had but on an epic scale.

I'm hoping no one else gets hit with this now as this summer holiday has not be used to its full potential.

  • Oh Mummy bear, how terrible. I hate that bruised/sick/exhausted feeling as d&v is always worse when you have to look after yourself. I had d&v whilst staying at my mum and dad's last year - just having mum to look after me made a massive amount of difference. Hope you are now recovered.

Your debt total is looking good! Not only are you sub £21k - you are within touching distance of being sun £20k and into the teen numbers.

There is going to be some snowballing going on when some of those debts are cleared individually. Go You. Cheering from the sidelines as always.

    Wish.

  • Oh no, that just sounds so miserable. Glad you are on the other side and improving now. Hope you are fully recovered soon and can enjoy the rest of the holidays.

Your debt progress has been amazing. Well done on being under £21k and so close to being out of the 20's.

I'm definitely feeling so much better today. Making up for lost time with cleaning etc.As good as DH is at entertainig the kiddies whilst I'm of no use, he hasn't quite mastered the art of multi tasking. So I've got a weekend worth of laundry to do.

I've worked out that if we continue at this debt busting rate the MBNA will be paid in full by March. Then it'll snowball onto the HSBC. I'm targeting each CC based on when the deals end.

    Morning,

Thought I'd pop an update on. Just waiting on payday on Thursday when I can update more figures on here.

Twin 2 is poorly again, but this time it's a cold. She really can't handle it and just walks around whinging bless her. She also refuses any paracetamol and spits it out again.

Over the next few weeks we'll be doing a bedroom swap for the kids.I'd found a new bed for DS and wanted to wait until I was on leave before ordering it, as obviously I'd be home to get it. However, it had shot up in price to £185 so I looked around and found an alternative. Whilst waiting for my money from my savings to hit my account I looked back on the original site and the bed I was originally getting DS had gone down to £133, so I've ordered it. Very happy with that, also did it through TCB so should earn a little on the back of that.

Don't need to get tornado toddler a new bed as she'll getting DS old one. I also need to redecorate their rooms. Ds's new room is the box room and won't require much wallpaper. So that's cost me £24 for 2 rolls of space themed paper. Tornado toddler didn't have any specific requests so I went to BandM last night to look around. Found their end of aisle sale and bagged an amazing bargain. They had loads of rolls of Minnie mouse wallpaper. It's white with silhouettes of minnie mouse wearing different glittery bows. £3 a roll!!!!! I Googled when in store and the cheapest I could find it elsewhere was £12.99 a roll. :money: So the girls room will be done for £15:T

Next challenge is finding the time to do the swap

Today will be mostly spent waiting in for a bed delivery. It's a rainy day anyway and the kids are happy to stay in.

I got my new home insurance yesterday. It's due for renewal on the 31st. I ran a quotation search last week and the lowest came back at £161 with £20 cashback. That was a £20 increase on last year's cost.

Anyway, ran the search again yesterday...details exactly the same. ..and the best quote came back at £136 with a £20 cashback! Snapped that up. Paid in full thanks to my annual bills pot :T
