I added a few bits to it afterwards to decorate it a bit...dummies and a rattle it looked quite nice when it was wrapped

Well Done Chazzy. Its gorgeous:T I love seeing everyone else's creations,mine look amatuerish in comparison:rotfl: Due to work i dont always get the chance to post as regularly as i would like but to echo Chazzy, huge thanks to everyone who has offered advice,tips and support along the way.Ive personally come to a bit of a standstill at mo,had a couple to do for work and had lots of good feedback but thats it.Wishing everyone lots of luck with their cakes and if there is anyting i can do to help anyone then just yell;)

have had a look through most of the threads I think but can someone tell me approx how many nappies there are on the first layer? Am starting to assemble all the things I will need but need an idea of size in my head first!

well done on your first attempt it is brilliant! You should be very proud! Yours surpasses alot of others I've seen on sale so a really good job!

For a 3 tier cake I use about 44 nappies in total, I think the first tier is usually appx 25 nappies from what I can remember. I don't pay too much attention to be honest I just know the total amount.

Any single tiers I've done have been appx 16 nappies. I always use size 2 nappies aswell.

Hi Chazzy - your nappy cake is lovely and it certainly does not look like your first attempt its really professional. Watch out though this nappy cake lark is addictive.
Well i've now got a new addiction - sock monkeys!!! Made my first last night and NEED to make some more today. Will blame Yummymsmummy for getting me hooked. This one is for my brother for his birthday today - complete with fag in hand just like him!!! Made it for a laugh more than anything.


Have to make more nappy cakes soon but too hooked on the sock monkeys at mo. Going to try a stripey one later.

Well done Shelley, he's adorable..my spare room is full of flannel cakes, monkeys, soft toys for nappy cakes, bags of ribbon, pins ,tape, socks, bags. can't move..
In fact I now know why this thread is on MSE. ...and that's because we're all so hooked on all these craft items that it keeps us at home and away from the costly high st shops.

Just look at this cutie. gorgeous isn't she and complete with pink duffle coat and hood. got her from my local garden centre and a bargain at £2.47..now have to make a something for her to sit upon
