Home Bargains sell small toys for 99p (ty toys) but they havn't got much in at the moment. They also sell alot of tat so you have to look through them.
I got some gorgeous beige rabbits (pink ears!!LOL) from Card warehouse in 2 sizes. at £1.99 and £1.49. They were originally about £6.

Am afraid I can't think of anything "pink" that I've seen on my travels, (except for pink pigs in Asda, but I think not!!!!)

Has anyone seen any whit sheep/lambs?

Hi ladies - had my first request from a friend of the friend I made the nappy cake for. Decided I'm just going to make them for friends at cost as, though I think there'd be qwuite high demand, especially up to xmas, doing the costings I think I'd only be making a few quid on each one and its not worth the hassle of sorting out tax etc. And if I didnt I'd be worrying about it alot so its not worth it. Plus, perhaps the fun factor would wear off once I'm on my 25th!!
Looking forward to making this pink one - got some beautiful bits from primark, lovely blankets and clothes sets so am going to make a four tier one - well, try at least!! :)

    Hi guys,

Regarding cheap toys, if you have a "card warehouse" near you they do some good bears for 99p. Also sainsburys at the mo have winnie the pooh beanies reduced from £4.99 to £1.24,I got a few pooh bears, a tigger and an eyeore today.

Roxiew with regards to tax the general opinion seems to be you need to keep accounts of outgoings and incoming and submit a self assesment form each year. Have a look at this comment from another website I found, could make it worthwhile registering and aiming to make a profit as could actually save you tax!

"Make sure you do your accounts very carefully Lisa and put down the costs/expense for every bit of material, postage, milage to craft fairs etc that you have spent. If you do that and find out that you've actually made a loss then you'll get a tax refund which cynical ole me thinks is why the tax office seem to be telling people in your situation that you don't need to worry about it all.

Edited to say that milage can really cut down your profit (and tax) - at 40p a mile even the weekly trip to the bank in town was nearly £150 in expenses for me last tax year, start adding trips to suppliers and craft fairs and it really adds up.

    Hi Shelley

Bit qiuet on here just lately. How are you doing with your second craf fair? Is it still going to happen?

Went to Wilco's yesterday and by accident came across some boxes that would be ideal for posting. They were the suppliers boxes for stationary - files notebooks etc. There were a couple empty on the shelf and I thought an ideal shape and size to keep cakes in place "inside" the main box.

I decided to ask the superviser what happened to them and she wasn't much help. She accused me of emptying it but then came round and said the night shift destroyed them.

I was loaded up with shopping so couldn't do anything about it anyway and she wasn't helpful in the slightest.

Hi Moonpenny I work shifts and have been in all week including this weekend of mornings so I haven't had much time to come one here. I haven't booked another stall because the dates are colliding with work and I'm off to Gretna Green in October for a cousins wedding and that clashes too. I'm quite happy plodding along as I am at the mo juggling work and my hobby:D

    Hi Shelly,

Have you tried any lighting at all yet? I bought the 80cm cube and it's huge! No idea where the heck it's going to go now! I like the red background with it, makes the cakes look very posh! I'm going to have a fiddle and do some single tiers as only done one. I really want to do some more cupcakes but hubby is groaning about me buying more stuff as not mad back the money spent so far! Not far off it now once I do another one for work this week and my mum wants 2 but they'll only be cost ones for her obviously!
We went to sainsburys today and the circus things they had were good but I didn't buy any, may go back tomorrow though as nice and colourful!

Have you had any more orders from your event last weekend yet?

I bought the 80cm cube and it was much bigger than i thought too, i've put in behind the door of the study so its out of sight. I haven't tried the red background yet might give that a try this week.
Your OH will be loving it when the orders come flooding in and I'm sure he'll stop moaning then. I'm spent much more than i've made too :D:D:D:D

    Hhmm Shelley,

After spending another few pounds in sainsburys today he started to moan so I just pointed out his case of beer! That seemed to work! At least I stand some chance of getting some of the money back! :rotfl:
I really want to do some more cupcakes again so have ordered some of the card muffin cases off ebay, think they may be better than the paper fairy cases.
Want to go and do a few more cakes with the bits I have but don't want to make too many up and not have homes for them so have occupied myself today making scones and jam instead!
I like the idea of doing the self assesment thing aswell for my hobby as definately spending more than earning if you take into account petrol etc! Well come to think of it at the mo even without taking that into account! Never mind have a drawwer of bits and pieces ready for a few more cakes!
