Me too Irlrip - I need to order a few things from ebay and have never used it. The delivery prices often put me off.

I can understand you feeling nervous about the stall but - go for it!!! If it doesn't work, than you havn't lost that much and like the girls say, you will get your name about.
Having said that, I havn't done one either! LOl

Rusty, You mentioned you used big rolls of cello. I just got 100 mt roll and was trying to find a way of putting it on some sort of roller to make it easier to cut. Have you done anything like that? Have given up because of the weight and will carry on cutting it on the bed.

Also, Has any of you girls fixed something up for reels of ribbon? I thought a small cheap curtain pole (on the wall) would be a good idea but havn't found anything cheap enough at mo. Any suggestions girls?

Moonpenny.....i was in ikea at the weekend and they had
just basic curtain poles reduced to 99p !!! the fittings
    were reduced too to 5p:eek:
not sure if that would help , theses poles arnt very expensive
    when not reduced either

P.S. Sorry, didn't have time to make pic smaller - am off babysitting now!

I have just had an email offering me a stall in the next towns yearly market in June (VERY BUSY market). I have been lucky to get a stall on my first application!

I how feel sick at the thought:( Do I go for it? The table is £45:eek:

For all of you that have done fairs what would I need to take with me?

    How many cakes? Obviously flyers.

What else do I take to try and sell on the day to try and recoup my costs?

I have to let them know by tomorrow if I want the stall.

So many questions sorry but I don't want to make a fool of myself:o

    hi Irlrip

I say go for it. If I had the chance to do one in a well-established busy market I would. June gives you tons of time to get cake-making and even if you don't sell anything on the day it is not too dear a price to pay for advertising. If it were me (never done one before) I would make some smaller items to sell too, like cupcakes or sock rosebud thingies, so that people can afford that and will come back for more (assuming you have flyers made with your contact details on). Don't be scared - take the plunge honey.

My only question would be - 'do you need public/products liability insurance ?' Worth asking the organisers.

Moonpenny - your shoe cakes are beautiful and I love the ribbon bow tied off-centre like that.

Wow Moonpenny! Love the cakes. You are soo good at coordinating all the colours and ribbons. You must have loads of different types of ribbon!

Bellag: I've been trawling from the start of this thread and I saw your first nappy cakes. They were so professional and beautiful.

A question: there's no Dunelm, ASDA, Ikea near me. Where would be good to get cheap blankets/towels/other baby stuff etc?

Moonpenny at the min we have no space to put the cello on a roll :( mine sits ontop of the radiator :rotfl: fits nicely in the groove :)

As for ribbon I use a kitchen roll holder just a cheapy one and sit my ribbons on there on the reels, however I am not at the point where I have more ribbons so could really do with something bigger so will probably make my own kitchen roll holder but make it longer if that makes sense!
