Rusty im pleased as its my first attempt! Giving them away tomorrow. Just was aiming for a more round cupcake shape initially!
Envious of all super tiered cakes on there tho

No way... That's your first attempt!? I don't believe it, they look so beautiful.

There's no way I'm posting my first attempt on here then, if that's the standard I've got to try and match :(.

Hey Ladies, I had a cunning thought last night, as I was thinking of all your beautiful cakes instead of sleeping!

My father-in-law loves to boast about his money. How much money he's made, how much he spent on a bottle of wine, how much he spent on a meal (where's the smiley for yawn?).

My thinking is, if you're really minted, you don't have to tell people... plus you're not giving any of it to me or hubby, so why do I care?!

Anyway I thought he could redeem himself if he made me a money cake with a few tiers or a few cup-a-money cakes, ie instead of rolling up nappies he could roll up bundles of £50 notes?

What do you think?:rotfl: Maybe he could put a piggy bank on the top of it? :T

Oooh kym they look perfect lol sorry I hadn't realised you weren't happy with them! I think they look fab! so different!

Nicky, hmmm sorry I hadn't realised you had advertised contents on flyers, My flyers are just basic and then it gives me room to swap and change things etc! Not sure if you could get around the whole advertising thing or not. Have you handed out loads of them? sorry it was just a suggestion, that is what I use in mine.

Rusty no need to be sorry, im grateful for your advice.... I havent handed lots of leaflets out, but people have photocopied them and passed them on I think. I could always explain when people ring to order that there is another available slighly different. Do you think I should charge the same or a little more as I would think it be more expensive with the babygros and baby lotion instead of the vests and socks

    Hello

Gosh this site is more addictive than daytime TV. Am starting from the beginning and reading through all the posts.

Someone, sorry I can't remember who, mentioned this:
    http://www.craftbits.com/viewProject.do?projectID=1344

Has anyone done one before? Is it easier than the cakes? I'm not convinced about using coat hangers though... any thoughts on an alternative please?

Also, some of you mentioned using ellies in your cakes, what are ellies?

    Lots of questions:
    1. I'm not sure how old the BIL's baby will be when we see her, so should I buy extra big nappies or would that spoil things? Or what can I use as an alternative to nappies.

    2. Do I have to use a cake board for the base? Would only make a one tier cake... seems a bit of waste of money.

    3. Do I have to wrap in cellophane? Or do you think it would spoil in transit if I didn't?

    Thanks.

Also, some of you mentioned using ellies in your cakes, what are ellies? I use ellies on my cakes, just soft toys from Asda, they are little elephants

    Lots of questions:
    1. I'm not sure how old the BIL's baby will be when we see her, so should I buy extra big nappies or would that spoil things? Or what can I use as an alternative to nappies. Most girls use size 3 (11lb - 20lb) should be big enough for the first 6 months

    2. Do I have to use a cake board for the base? Would only make a one tier cake... seems a bit of waste of money. Im my opinion Cake boards aint necessary for a single tier but at 52p each its not a big cost

    3. Do I have to wrap in cellophane? Or do you think it would spoil in transit if I didn't? Cellophane will keep it in place and keep it clean, if its only one gift your making see if you can buy some cellophane from your local florist as this may be cheaper.

3, Again yes i would wrap it i dont think it would look the same unwrapped
